While growing up on Long Island the natives always bred and kept Black Labs.They were essential working dogs retrieving ducks and geese for the hunter. They were super sensitive and for years were trained as seeing eye dogs. My last Lab’s name was Tar Baby. She could run down a pheasant in a flash.
