June Hailstones

It IS June- right? Flaming June.

A strange day. Sun, heat, then….woooosh…..I had to run out to the garden and take in lots of stuff I had left out there. Cushions for the chairs, Writing paper and pens, for if I had some sort of magical inspiration caught me, for either writing or drawing. Most importantly, a camera so that I could catch the beautiful blooms on one of my shrubs.

By the time I got them in – or rather, threw them in from the door entrance , it was beginning to rain. Heavy splats..I stood at the door watching the rain ….then I heard it – the thunder. Mr.Darcy (my dog) started to shake. He’s not a fan of loud noises. The lightening joined in the drama.

There is a metal dustbin outside to store the bird food in – or rather, to keep the rats OUT of the bird food. It started to sound like a carnival with steel drums as the heavy rain turned into perfectly round hailstones!

Nature playing a cacophony of sounds in my garden.

Mr.Darcy wasn’t impressed.

I have to admit that I was!

    1. Thank you for your reply. I’m pleased that you enjoyed reading it. I do enjoy my garden, it’s a bit ‘wild’, but it’s good for nature to be like that

  1. That does sound nice and I think I’d enjoy that as well. I do like watching thunderstorms and will usually get up in the night to see them, so with the other sounds as well….yeah…great!
