I have tryed and tryed to upload a picture on my profile page…this is vertually impossible unless you choose a privacy option….which there is none listed.
Sort it out Rob.Or anyone in admin.

shurley, it should be very. very easy so if it is hard you or your computer are not working right, First you need a certain kind of picture, like it will say something like jmg and a number. I think you have to take the picture with a digital camera, like a cell phone or computer.
You may need a more modern computer also.
Go to your profile page, click change avatar, and click browse. then go browse your pictures and upload. It will say crop and you crop. I may not remember exactly but IT SHOULD be easy and it is possible. Get help if possible from family and friends. I wish you perseverance, luck and success.
It should be easy , but I can’t either …I’ve been trying for a long time to change my profile picture and I can’t … It always comes back to the same upside down picture …I could crop it but it’s not possible to turn it the right side up ! The actual picture it’s the right side up , so it’s nothing to do with the picture itself , and if I try to upload a different one ….it’s IMPOSSIBLE …I always end up with same upside down picture …. I can’t make it work 🙁
I just changed my profile pic and had no trouble at all. So I dont know why you are having problems.
Well, I have cleared the cookies , and memory and tried countless times ! It’s not working for me .
I have exactly the same problem nmod…. I have wanted to change my avatar and I either have upside down pics, or on their side…the one I have now is on its side too, but it is not as noticable….have tried quite a few times to alter it.. no luck… glad it’s not just me!! lol

This is really odd. These pics are saved to your computer and are right way up I presume; so if then added to this site that is how they should show up here to…right way up, get cropped and become your profile pic. Possibly the pic is too large to begin with and somehow it happens, so I suggest you try using “Fast Image Resizer” which you can add to your desktop as a free download, drag pic to it when you have set the size of around 640 X 480 and it will saved as a resized pic and go to the same area as your original pic. Also check (by right clicking the pic) that its a JPEG image…thats seems the best to use. Other than this I have no idea on anything else you can do.
Thanks Faye, but pics are not too big and I can upload them on other sites, and have done so.. It’s only here I have trouble…. I know it’s odd – I’ve never had upside down pics before!! lol…. PS I don’t look any better upside down either!!! lol
Shurley…ask Google. I just had a look and it is to do with the orientation of the pic. It is correctable. I asked why pics were downloading sideways and lots of ideas come up so you will find answer there.
Reduce the size of the pic first for ex. 60 x 90px, 90 x 90px e.g. Use jpg that works best. Save the new pic on your computer for the upload. See if that works as wanted.
It did work at some stage , because that’s how I uploaded my current picture , but there’s another picture I’m was trying to upload that was apparently to big , I could crop it to size but it appears sideways ,or upside down , I’m unable to straighten it or getting rid of it , because no matter what picture I click it always appears the same one , I’ve tried re-starting my PC . Tried clearing cookies
And history … But not matter what I do ….the same upside down picture appears , it’s kind of stuck there for ever….and I’m unable to get rid of it and start again .
What graphic programm are you working with? Does the upside down pic belongs to you, to your comp, to windows? Are you able to delete the pic and where is it been stored ( name of the drive )? Michael
I’ve taken the picture with my iPad , which I’ve read it can do that ….I could delete the picture from my camera roll , but it’s a reasonably good one ,if I delete it I have no back up …I will lose it and I have not many pictures that look ok …so I would like to keep it .
I would like to erase it from senior chatters change my avatar program , which is where it seems to be stuck in ! If I could remove it from there , I would try to upload a different picture .
But at the moment , no matter what I do …it’s always that freaking upside down picture coming …:-(
