Sandiago Train Crash

May thoughts prayers and condolences go to the survivors friends and family’s of this horrific traln crash………this is a little close to home for me……..the chances of my grandson Dominic being on that train were very high……..this year he had planned to do the Sandiago 500 mile trek…..despite .concern from his mum and me he was determined to undertake this adventure, he had planned to be away for 6 weeks…….my daughter and I knew this would be 6 weeks of worry for us with very little contact, he is not the best one at keeping contact when he is off on his travels, all the said dates were booked, all the appropriate gear purchased, he has been brought up to be his own man, so too much pressure was not put on him not to go, then relief of relief , his band had lots of gigs and festival dates rolling in, pressure was put on him from the band not to undertake the trek……the band and the music won,,,,,,,our prayers had been answered, I know he will do this trek eventually, today we could have been amongst the many people waiting to hear news of their loved one’s, many young have lost their lives, some who had been on the pilgrimage some no doubt returning from the trek……….we are very thankful that we are not waiting for news……….we just feel a little unnerved about what could have been………..but fate deemed that he was not to be on that train.

  2. Starlette: You are wise to let your son live his life. This is too close for comfort and maybe he will just get trekking out of his system. Oh the joys of having children and oh the vulnerability and worry at every turn.
