Re Soldier assistance
Anne,s blog reminded me of an experience I had some yrs ago….It was 1983,I was in Somerset,England..I,d locked the keys inside my rental car.
I said to my girlfriend at the time “What we need is a friendly neighborhood car thief to help us out”
Just then, around the corner screeched this young guy, stopped and asked if he could help…I told him and Zip,Zip,Zip..He,d half dismantled the front door and opened it,,in about 10 seconds….Amazing !
After he reassembled the door ,I thanked him and gave him 20 pounds…Money well spent in my opinion 🙂
Wow what an experience Cappuccino……..£20 was a lot of money then.
Still is Anne 🙂
Close on $50 I think.
good story cappuccino. have had a similar experience.
That young man must have earned a fortune per day by just opening car doors at this time?
Judging by the heap of scrap he was driving Micheal,I doubt it…But maybe he had just nicked that one ! lol.
But,back in the day, cars were much easier to steal…Hardly worth locking up.
