Private Chat With New Smilies Interface

Hi Chatters,

Just a quick post to let you know about the improvements that have been made to Private Chat.  There have been a number of bug fixes that will greatly improve performance.  Also, included with this update is a new Smilie 🙂 interface enabling you to include Smilies in your conversation without having to remember keyboard short-cuts.

Lets take a closer look…

The first thing you will need to do is to clear your Browser Cache.  This will ensure you are loading the new Private Chat interface and not the old one.  If you’re not sure how to do this, then go to Google and type in something like “Clear Browser Cache”.  Or, download the excellent CCleaner which will do it for you, as well as a host of other PC optimisation tasks which will keep you computer running smoothly, perfect for Senior Chatters.

Anyway…

Senior Chatters Buddy List

Once you have cleared your Browser Cache, login to Senior Chatters and click on the ‘Private Chat’ bar as normal to display a list of your friends who are currently available for a Private Chat session.  Remember, a Green circle means that a member is available for chat, whilst a Grey half-moon denotes that a member is currently inactive on the site.

New Smilie Icon Highlighted Here In Yellow

Click on a member with whom you wish to Private Chat with to launch the Private Chat conversation box as normal.  You will now see a new Smilie Icon highlighted in yellow in the above example (it’s actually grey live on site).

Smilie Interface

Click the Smilie Icon to launch the new interface.  You can now simply click on a Smilie to include it in your conversation.  The keyboard short-cut will replace the graphical Smilie in the message input box, but will appear as a Smilie when you post.  I hope that makes sense….

As always, I’d love to hear what you think, and for those who were having problems with Private Chat, whether the new upgrade has improved things for you?

If you’re not sure about how to Private Chat, then take a look at our help videos where it’s covered in detail.

All the best

  1. Wonderful, Rob… Thank you for your continual caring attention to the site, to make this the best, and safest chat site. All of your work is very much appreciated.

    1. Your Browser will automatically update with the changes, but it may take a while. Using CCleaner or deleting your Browser Cache will make the changes appear instantly. In any case, when you see the new Smilie Icon (as shown above) you’re good to go 🙂
