My Beaut.
I met him on the internet,
this guy seemed so much fun,
called me just the sweetest names, Princess, Babes and hun.
The months did pass, we chatted lots, to him I gave my heart,
I told him all about myself, he told me diddly-squat.
As time went by I made new friends, here on senior chatters,
with lots of ladies, I met up, for a laugh and just a natter.
This guys name cropped up, now and again, and notes we did compare,
he was such a generous man, himself he liked to share.
My inquisitive mind, would not let it be, I was open and so true,
I hung on till the very last, still trying to pursue.
But even I had to admit defeat, mind games I would not play,
I’m here to tell this sorry tale, to him I was easy prey.
This man I know I will never forget, hope he remembers me too,
laughs there were a plenty, tears there were a few.
This was written tongue in cheek, for me do not despair,
I still love this guy to bits, him…..he does not care.
So ladies beware, there are others like him, so fickle and care free,
so never take the offer, of just a ” cup of tea ”
But hey what doesn’t kill you, makes you strong indeed,
someone else will come along, and help to fill the need.
But here I sit with pen in hand, my feelings to convey,
little more for me to sayl, but, HEY!!! I lived to see another day.
You Know who you are….and I know you will take it in the jest it was meant. xxx

Steve I have replied to your private message, and thankyou, but a little explaination of the blog…..there is no heartbreak going on here, I was asked to write a blog about on line affairs, was going to call it ” The Charmer ” because it seems there are a lot in SC. and where would we be with out them, but as I have found out a lot of heartache can be caused, I have used myself as a example, wouldn’t dream of using anyone’s elses name, Beaut does exist, my nickname for him, just some private joke, I know he will see the funny side, I hope so anyway, nobody knows who he is….and nobody ever will….just one of my many good friends on here and I do love him to bits.x

Great piece Star. And so true for so many. BTW. its not only women who get caught by these players. Men are equally as vulnerable !!
I got caught up some years ago by game player. I thought he was a friend, and I had no romantic thoughts toward him at all, but he was an obsessive.
He Hacked my puter, I could not even sign on without him knowing about it,. When I got suspicious and started trying to find out how to clear my puter (took a bIoody long time, but I learned ALOT about hackers and how they do it) and tried to back away from chatting to him, then the threats came. Nasty threats. He hacked my email accounts and got all personal info about my friends and family. He even sent letters to my family, accusing me of all sorts. I went to the police, but in those days internet abuse was not heard of, but the RCMP did go to see him.
We have a series on TV called ‘CATFISH’. Such an eye opener. If you ever get the chance to see this show, watch it.

Star this is a most excellent blog. Simple, clear with a message but without the blaming and naming. I was lucky as I always had a good radar with the players and could play them back if in the mood or rather bored enough to bother. So hoping radar will still work in cyber space. But yes sometimes you can end up with someone in your life you didn’t want, or need in it. cyber romance is a whole new ball game……cyber flirting….could be fun….cyber sex….wouldn’t have a clue as not technical enough lol
I had a friend who met someone on the internet, romance begun, but it was doomed, as an observer you could see he wasn’t really as he portrayed himself, but my friend could not read the signs and got hurt and hasn’t really recovered. Another contact met someone on a dating site and 6 years on his struggling, a bit like polly, he was a control freak, stalks her and she’s just had him sentenced for second time. Her health suffered.
Thanks for highlighting this as I joined SC as it was a FRIENDSHIP site and not a DATING site….Had I been seeking love/romance/sex or casual affairs I would have joined a matching dating site and tried to sort out the charmers and the real men on there.
Mind you had I seen an advert for a site with HUNKS who wanted to come take care of me and my hurting back………may just have tempted me into joining.

I meet the most wonderful man on sc and we were to be wed he was the mosr kindest and generous man I have ever known but sadly he passed away what I would do to have him back but three years have passed now and I have meet someone new he remind me so much of him but I know he not he is very good to me and did not meet him on internet don’t think all are bad some women are just as bad x

happy for you too Roxanne. Some women are lucky and find good men, my brothers widow has found a good man…and she didn’t deserve a second good one. I had a good one and so am happy to leave it there…so not looking to replace that part of my life….but a complementary companion who likes driving and gardening wouldn’t go amiss……selfish of me as i also like my own space when i want it.

ha ha ha star, well!,we have to sort the wheat from the chaff , most of the guys on seniors are the best with the exception of a couple who think the women here are for them to play games with, but there few and far between, some are natural groomers who ply their trade to unsuspecting females,then go on to the next one hoping to make the same conquest there, but fortunately some of the females are a little bit smarter and play them at there own game if one can beleive what one hears.but its all grist for the mill, and everyone has a good laugh later on .xxx
