The Males in My Life

Just arrived home , 9.00pm , all is quiet . House is looking worryingly tidy. I left the house early this morning . Off on a rare day out with friends. The preparation s for my leave of absence required military tactics . I alone had to prepare food and comfort for the males in my life . I think preparing for a medieval castle siege would have been on a smaller scale. I didnt have to bring the cattle and surfs to safety within the walls , but I did have to prepare enough food and drink for what seemed a small village . Worth all the baking and cooking as I had a whole day away from home , family and chores. The house is deathly quiet , very odd .I shall make the most of the peace for as long as it lasts.
It is now 11.30pm, bathed , comfortable and relaxed . Happy , but hungry . I went to get myself some food for my supper to find the siege stores totally wiped out . There was not so much as a crust of bread . The males in my life arrived home at 10.30. All looking very pleased with themselves . They had been to the local Indian Restaurant for dinner . Dinner! They had eaten the siege stores for breakfast and lunch . They didn’t think it was dinner as well .Not so much as a nan bread for mother ! Yet I smile as I go to the laundry to take my secret stash of emergency treats from their hiding place ,a place where no male dare go , the cleaning material cupboard. Reaching for my promise of a smooth bar of Galaxy , I rummage to no avail . Then one of my offspring calls out , ”Mam , if you are looking for the chocolate , we ate them before breakfast . Can you bye Topic in future , prefer it to Galaxy . Mam , dont be mean , bye the bigger bars . Some pistachio nuts would be nice as well. Night.” Is nowhere safe ?
Mam is going to toughen up the rules. The males in this house have had it too good for long enough . Mam is going Rambo !
