Lovely Mudball

I have discovered many things in my years riding on this big multicolored mudball called Earth. I have observed many situations that I wish I had not seen and many others that have changed my life for eternity. Yet, while sitting here and watching life move forward, I can not help but wonder about what will become of us in the future?

Looking around me, I see a great many wonderous and beneficial advancements in many areas such as those in Medical, Technical, and Communicational areas to list a few. Yet, we are still not able to protect ourselves against a microscopic germ that has taken so much from us. How can this be?

From my perspective, I believe it is not the lack of knowledge about the virus itself. But more so, the lack of effectiveness of our leaders to focus on the task of combating this virus.

I do not comprehend what there is to gain, other than a better political position, by accusing this country or another of not having done enough against this plague; it is much more critical to finding a cure and saving lives. I remember a saying, ( ” A life matters…” ). Is this still true today? I honestly have my doubts.

Gold, Power, and material things have no worth when balanced against a person’s life, at least to me. I have seen death often in my lifetime. Its breath is cold, and its touch is icy. My best friend, heart, and soul taught me to love life and hold its precious hand to help those needful of help, yes, even long-tailed, four-legged voracious kind.

Each morning I wake up, I see her picture and am thankful that the previous night did not take me with it. Then I see the news of the day, and my heart saddens. I long to be with her, to hold her hand again, but until such time. I will remember her warm and expressive eyes and her soft whispers, don’t forget to feed the cat.
