Love, Lust, Length and lasting

Love, Lust, Length and lasting

Is there Love at first Sight? How long does it take to “fall in Love”? Why do we use words like “head over heels”, “crazy about you””cupid’s arrows? Now how is that for a keyword title and getting senior chatters members to tune in? Some of you know me and know that I am not planning to talk dirty here, though lust and the “dirty deed” is a big part of the love game and the length of time love lasts may be intertwined with a lasting and spiritual loving connection. Am I still a lady? LOL

I have studied some and experienced some, but this “falling in love” and a quick shot of a Cupid’s arrow had not happened to me or to the suitors for my attentions. Now I had a man professing this ” sudden powerful attraction” and I was thinking “POPPYCOCK”. So, I googled the subject and read “Psychology Today” , a respected journal, and lo and behold, it said that love does happen quickly and suddenly and crazily and that is why we have all these words to describe the feeling. Maybe I and the men that I had previously known had our heads wound too tight and had armored the heart from being pierced by Cupid’s arrows.

Now what is the role of lovemaking and true love and long lasting love and the flying arrows? Men are instantly attracted and it is their nature and they begin a pursuit. Biology is in overdrive and mother nature knows her business. From many sources, and what my friends tell me, NOT ME, good satisfying sex bonds a couple. But, listen up, bad sex may leave a mate angry and turned off. NOT ME, or does the lady protest too much? We all may know a lot of this but we may think it is just us, or maybe here in USA, we are more Puritanical than the rest of the world. If this sex business has no relevance for some, seniors, pass it on to the young people.or the young at heart.

I think I have covered the subject of “Love, Lust, and Length and lasting” or as much as I dare and is needed. So, now is the time for you to share your thoughts or to set me straight. I am always ready to listen and learn, to live and to love, more and better. Are you?

  1. Hello Rose,
“Love, Lust, and Length and lasting” put them in a cocktail shaker, but be creative with the quantity. Just a bit to little or a bit to much of each could get you in a disaster. That’s the reason why Love, Lust, and Length and lasting need and take time to operate.
But you can also mix Love with Lust, Lust with Length, Love with lasting a.s.o.
It’s a nice game for people to play for nearly every evening of the year. It can also be played in the morning or during the day, in the kitchen or in the hay. It’s time for tasting the spring fever on your tongue. Don’t hesitate and take the situation as it comes and as it is enjoyable for you. Michael

  2. Love, women fall in love too quickly ,they want the flowers, the hearts, the romance and she will be yours forever, males on the other hand , dont know their in love , takes awhile for a male to realise hes in love, they seem to admire attention from the females, lust, looks , and what their friends think of her …lasting love, these days it,s hard , too many singles , around looking for anyone they can be with…
take ones time is the answer, dont rush into anything you can live a lifetime regretting…. rather live forever with an admiring friend than love and have it wear off and be alone again.like playing the devils advocate ha ha xx

    1. Lani. Thank you so much and I will drag my feet wherever he leads me. Your are so right about a lot of situations. In youth we have time, but at my age I have to focus on the present, and the present is just perfect. I tell him I need a test of time and a leap of faith. What does Shakespeare say bout “Virgins who tarry” ? Something like “Be not coy and make the most of time”. I am being courted and wooed, “full force”. It is a wonderful new experience.

  3. Well, I told my son many years ago that he didn’t know the difference between lust and love, to which he answered, “Yes I do, it’s about 6 weeks.” 🙂
