Just an idea only

We are in the middle of the winter even it doesn’t looks like it.

So that is a bit of boring time and I was thinking of doing something
that brings some kind of entertainment into my life.
So I went along the firms in our area and asked the management if
they where investing in new computer equipment because they always
need the latest generation technical innovation in that field.

Many of them did and so I asked them fort he old ones which I would
need for a group of oldies in the congregation of the convent I belong
to. Make a long story short I got 27 Laptops not older than two years.

Once a week I am guiding the babysteps of our oldies into the new
world called internet. It’s allowed to them to take their Laps back
home with them so they can continue training at home.

We meet once a week an I am telling you some have never seen sex
pages in their life. But even more they enjoy the fact they can read
daily newspapers without any charge of it.

That’s my pleasure.

    1. Well done von michael, I used to teach the internet a few years ago at the kingsville library to the elderly, and I was amazed at just how quickly most of them learned so quickly and enjoyed it immensely, quite a few returned for refresher couses to the tutorswho were more experienced than I , it wassuch a plesaure to see them enjoying themselves with new technology.

Oh I bet they would love too because we don’t have that good quality of SC
in Germany. In fact I would have to teach them the english language which
    I’m not capable of.

No but thanks a lot for your hint. I’ll show them England on the google maps
and in addition I’ll let them take part on my adresses of various parts of
    England and it’s beauty.

  2. Great idea Michael. So many seniors would love to be able to use the computer, but don’t know where to start. Once they get the hang of it, there will be no stopping them!! Good for you!

    1. Oh dear I’ve told them till easter I’ll help them going their babystepps. You know it is quite surprising what they want to know and see. Lots of their memories return by pushing the button and they have those days that have gone by in their livingroom again.

  3. Good to hear you are helping the community as well as keeping your own brain box working 😉
Doing this from November to March is perfect. The ‘oldies’, (or should I say “us oldies” need something to look forward to for the winter months.
    Good on you. 🙂
