It seems like a lifetime ago.
I have to have my deck repaired. I built it 35 years ago. That got me thinking about when I got out of the US Navy, over 50 years ago. I have vivid memories of those times, but it does feel like a lifetime ago, like about the time they were building the Pyramids. I remember as a kid when someone said they were born in 18 something or other; I thought they were ancient. Now, kids today must feel the same when I say I was born in 1946. I don’t know. I just got to thinking about my history, and while I remember my life, it does seem it was a long, long time ago.

I can so relate to this. When someone referred to the 70s as half a century ago, it blew my mind. I find it shocking to look back decades as if they are just a few years. But half a century ago, I qualified as a nurse, passed my driving test and got married. Makes me feel ancient. 😱
