DO YOU SEE ME???

I wrote this one day when I was feeling invisible….
I could relate to each situation, and just wanted to share a part of me….

DO YOU SEE ME……….

As I walk I sense peace, I see many things I want to share.
I look at a cloud, do you see it? The white fringes race away in the sky.
I can make out the images as I gaze up at them..do you see me?

I dip my toe in the cool stream, the water gently caressing my foot.
I disrobe and gently wade in
I feel the coolness of the water surround me and it awakens my every sense.
I gently swirl my fingers in the water,
Enjoying the caress of the water under my hand….do you see me?

I stand upon a mountain top, gazing down at the world beneath me.
The majesty of the trees, streams and mountains begging to be noted.
The freshness of the firs and spring air sting my nostrils as I inhale deeply…..do you see me?

A small child chasing a butterfly, carefree and happy.
She sits in wonder and gazes at the butterflies vivid colors
As the butterfly takes flight she chases after it laughing with glee……do you see me?

I gather the once small child in my arms, my heart bursting with love,
Wishing she was small once again so I could share this with her.
She is grown now and on her own and I now feel an emptiness inside I have
never experienced…..do you see me?

A lonely beggar by the roadside. A war veteran that gave his youth to us, and this is how
we repay him
Not knowing where his next meal will come from, forgotten by family and friends,
Shunned by others because they do not see the human within.
Hoping someone will share their meal with him……do you see me?

I watch as the waves gently caress the golden sand,
The roar of the ocean as the wind blows softly
Laughing as seagulls chase each other in carefree abandon……do you see me?

I write you a note telling you to meet me tonite…
I dress in my best dress and heels, looking forward to seeing you again.
I sweep my hands through my hair, wondering if you will notice how I look tonite…do you see me???

As you take me gently into your arms, I give my heart to you.
My heart quickens….do you feel me ….do you see me?

I walk alone in the park late at nite, wondering where my life has gone and where its going,
broken and shattered, I cry…….do you see me?

I stare at a blank page, wondering if I am allowed to write the next chapter of my life,
wanting to rewrite some of the past pages but knowing its impossible…do you see me?

    1. Thank you starlette, I imagine we all wish that we could turn back time at one point or another, but unfortunately its not the way it works so we just deal and move on.
Thank you for your kind comments xx

  3. So glad you shared this. So many do wonder if they are seen. You reached out to all of those who wonder, now they know someone is watching and understands.

    1. I do indeed understand Linda, I sometimes sit and watch and see people struggling to be seen and for some reason it draws me to them, because I can totally relate. xx

  4. Laura, you were the very first one to actually befriend me when I went to chat and I won’t ever forget that. You tried your best to keep me in the conversation and make me feel welcome. I appreciate your continued kindness and friendliness. Don’t ever change! You are one in a million and I am so happy that I met you. And I, as well… ‘see’ you and your bubbly personality! You are a beautiful friend.

    1. Thanks Pam, its easy to be nice to nice people!!!
I know newbies often remain “unseen” so its our job as older chatters to make them feel welcome and make sure they arent left out. Not that I am old or anything mind you!! LOL
Thanks for being my friend xxx

  5. Lovely Laura can feel right there with you what it is your saying,so many people are right there walking in that invisable would beside you.Sometimes we all need to reach out touch the unknown and maybe a new world will embrass us,just takes a little courage God Bless you laura your a wonderful person,so glad to call you friend ,xxxxx

    1. Its funny mac saying that we should reach out and touch someone that seems to be unseen. The other day, Easter in fact, since I was on my own, I went to the capital of the state to shoot some pics, and there were many homeless on the grounds.
As I watched, many people looked at them with scorn and distaste. They walked a wide birth around them and It made me sad seeing that. I spoke to a few and to see their faces light up with just a few kind words was well worth the effort.
It did indeed take courage to do that, for me anyway, as I am actually quite shy in real life, but I was so glad I did, and it put a smile in my heart to know that I had an effect on someone that has no one.
I feel privilaged to call you my friend xxxx

    1. Thank you FY, I didnt put this blog up to get compliments,,,,, I put it up to make people think about who they see in their daily lives and just walk by, instead of acknowledging those that are ignored on a regular basis.
I see it happen often, the elderly using a walker and others get impatient because they arent walking fast enough, the homeless, begging for someone to notice them and even just say hi to let them know they still exist, a small child crying cause its hungry.
There are just so many things that we ALL walk by and dont or wont notice because we think our everyday lifes are more important.
Just take the time to say hi to someone who needs it, let them know they matter.
