Diary of the Owner of an Old Dog.
6.30 am- Take dog out to toilet
8.00am- Feed dog ,give him his tablets ,instill drops in his eyes.
10.00am- Check dog’s eyes , flush them clean with saline , instill drops …give him a treat .
12.00 noon – Instill eye drops in dog’s eyes ,before going out …meet Sally and her dog . Exchange vet notes over coffee while dogs socialize .
2.00pm. – Give the dog a bath , dry and brush his coat …instill eye drops .
4.00 pm – Make a shopping list : dog food…treats…flea treatment …dental sticks…buy food for owner if money left over . ( don’t forget to instill eye drops every 2 hours ) oops ! Time for eye drops.
6.00 pm – instill eye drops , take dog to the vet .
6.30 pm – Hand over pension check to the vet. Make another appointment .
8.00pm – Feed the dog , give him his tablets .check eyes , clean if necessary instill drops.
10.00 pm- Take dog out to toilet before bed …instill eye drops …have a cup of tea . Think of ways to supplement the pension .
10.30 pm- Make a list of things to do tomorrow : wash dog’s blankets, pick up poo from the garden…do the shopping (we are running out of dog food) .
11.00 pm – lights off …good night .
11.10 pm – lights on …the dog wants to go out .

i like the bit about hand over the pension. that is about right hee hee!
Unfortunately that is the case … It’s ridiculously expensive to care for an old animal ! If this treatment doesn’t work he will need an operation and that will cost thousands !
So I’m very diligent with his medication …I hope it will work out .

Even though we hand over our pension we do it willing for the love of our dogs – their never ending love is priceless. My little girl nudges me with her nose to hurry up and get her out of bed and outside – she does this to me at least 3 times a night, but then I go too, so it is okay. I love her to bits – great blog nmod xoxox
So true forever ! Their love is never ending …my son tells me that my dog cries for me at night when I’m not home ! He is very sweet , and lets me treat his eyes every time even when I know that sometimes it hurts him .
