computer speak

Just bought my very first computer a couple of months ago. Everyone else had one forever it seems. All said ‘you’ll love it’, well maybe. My 11 yr old grandaughter had to show me many functions while my son set up icons for me. Can’t believe college education did nothing to prepare me for the internet, or how not to lose the screen you’ve spent an hour trying to find. Love email, that I understand. Reminds me of the letter-writing I did when my ex was in the navy. At least familiar. It seems like every site requiring ‘user name’, ‘password’ will not let me enter the very next day. All I get is errors, incorrect user or password, and I write them all down in a book next to my computer. When my sons visit, they can’t believe how short tempered I am when attempting to use this computer. They can’t believe I am the same mom who smiled and gently said ‘time to get up for school’.At times I want to throw out this darn thing. But I have found this chat site and I do love my computer, just for this site. Now I can chat with people everywhere, places I will never go, but have read about for years (love to read). I may grumble, and even scare my cat when I get frustrated, but now I do love this computer, now just starting to understand ‘computer speak’

    1. padraig1-I used the dos system at work 20 years ago. I managed it very well, then all the systems changed. I had a specific job on the computer, the programs were installed by the state (state billing) and government (federal billing) programs. Didn’t need the internet till now. Never owned a LP till a few months ago. You have a lot of experience on computers. One of my new friends has offered to assist me to learn has the darn LP programs will benifit me. meme’
