Behaviour of Politicians

In the contest for the next Prime Minister of the UK, Boris Johnson is a long way ahead in the Polls. Police were called to his house after a loud altercation between him and his girlfriend. This has had a bigger affect on the poll gap between him and Jeremy Hunt than any words said about policy. Should this be the case? We all know politicians are not saints but how much should their personal lives be taken into account when voting for them.?

  1. As long as their personal life has no detrimental effect on their political endeavours for the good of the country , as far as anything else goes , everyone should mind their own business.

  2. Thanks for this Scorpio. I think some of the best leaders have hardly been saintly, Churchill, JFK to name two. With all the media, mobile phones etc nowadays I don’t think there is any chance that politicians wont have everything about them aired in public. Who on earth would want to be a politician let alone Prime Minister?

  3. I’ve often wondered that myself. I’m sure they are all full of the very best of intentions but realistically it’s got to be a teeny bit about the P O W E R ! ?

  4. Or I dare say who cares – they are all much the same – But on the other hand I have to admit that there is no job in within that band of folk that I would care to tackle – the trouble, of course, remains that without them the country would be in an even bigger mess!
