A Simple Question.

Do you believe that we, as citizens of various nations, are on balance, getting factual news from what is commonly known as “the Media”?

I no longer read any newspaper, nor do I regularly read news from any news business site on the internet. I do follow loosely a few websites that carry news articles that are posted by participants and are *somewhat* balanced in coverage.

I am a definite Skeptic.

Are you?

  1. Definitely a skeptic of news because I think popluarist opinions have a lot to do to sway how things are reported, what ” slant” it has. I have also stopped watching any news on tv and I honestly don’t know anyone who reads newspapers anymore unless they subscribe online. ” Celebrities” have too much sway over how things are reported. Hard to believe what’s truth and what’s just going along with the popular causes of the week.

  2. No way do I believe newspapers these days, never the factual truth in so many reports, they are all loaded to which ever way that papers wants to portray. I am dead set against the latest trend of using children to push their cause. Even TV news depends on which channel you watch, you get different view on subjects

  3. I trust very little news.. don’t think they ever tell facts.. more like their opinions.. even special reports they cut things out that you should be hearing.. then try to tell you what you did hear in their opinion again.

  4. I must admit I don’t trust media these days, I never read newspapers, and rarely catch the news on TV…. I seem to be in the majority here too, is it an age thing I wonder, are we past the stage where we can be fooled, or is it just we’ve heard it all before? Whatever the reason, I’m a blissfully ignorant happy person, not blind to the needs of others mind you. I’ve spent my career helping people, in one position or another and I’m sure I’m not alone. Have a good day everyone, safe in the knowledge that our generation knows where it’s at, and have the guts to say so!

  5. I try very hard NOT to read newspapers or watch the news on television and if I hear or see one more thing about Brexit – – – – – ! Also is it me , or does anyone else find that child who is banging on in the media about climate change precocious ?

  6. It is comforting to me that this group is more “international” than many and that your responses here closely mirror my own thoughts on the “news”.
Thank you all for sharing your opinions.
