Hello From Alaska
I joined the other day. I live in Alaska. It’s my third time in the state. I’ve seen amazing things, especially the wildlife! I’ve been in Nome, Juneau, and Anchorage. I’m working a job with almost zero human connection but it’s good pay and my husband and I are trying to save for retirement. He’s 13 years older than me. I’m hoping this site will help me connect with people while I have this job and beyond that as well. This seems like a great site!

Hi Mal, welcome to the board. I’ve been to all 3 places you mentioned. Back in the 1990s I went with a freind to Alaska in the summer, looking for Gold. The Yukon, Dawson City and all over. Had an eye opening time. But no gold.
Welcome Mal. Im so hoping to hear more about Alaska. Totally unknown to me. Please join the photo group and post some of your experiences.
It is a great site yes, in my honest opinion, and it should provide exactly what you are hoping for with interaction and connections now and into the future. As for retirement, well I can fully recommend it and don’t hang about either. The sooner you can do it the more time you will have to enjoy it – while you are young enough to do so. Of course it does have to be financially viable and only you know that for sure but what I can say is that it depends entirely on your expectations in retirement. So if you’re happy to enjoy being alive spending quality time with people you love rather than having flashy cars and foreign holidays, then you might be able to retire sooner than you realise. It’s what I’ve done. My old conker box has to be the oldest one on our street and holidays are bargain bookings in hotels around the UK (we tried camping in a tent but honestly, at our age, that’s a bit painful on the old joints ha ha!). Anyway, hope you enjoy being a part of the community here at Senior Chatters.
Hi Mal, I also would like to hear more about Alaska. I’ve never been there and I’m sure it’s beautiful.
