2 AM Visitor
I got up at 2 AM last night. The porch light was on. That means the sensor detected something within the last 10 minutes. It had snowed and there was snow on only one of my two trash bins. So, it was Barney, the bear. I don’t know why, but Barney likes to come around in November and December. I think he has a place by the stream a half mile down the road. A few years ago, he and his brother (sister?) used to play in romp in my back yard as cubs. Mom was this enormous bear, well over 600 lbs. Barney is a pretty good bear. When he does hit a trash can, he does it with surgical precision. Unlike most bears that will tear the contents into a million pieces. I probably would have preferred an elf or something for a late night visitor, but a tidy, neatnik bear will do, too.

@fuzzybuddy Love reading about the bear that visited you last night and that you know him since he was a cub . No bears here in my area but we do have deer and fox up here in my area of N, Mays Chapel. MD.
You write great blogs, Fuzzybuddy… I like reading them. We dont have bears here in Australia. How dangerous are they if you come across one. Are pets safe from them?
I can’t imagine living somewhere where there are bears roaming around! Do you have a system, such as banging on pots and pans to scare them away if they try to get into your house? Enjoyed reading about your visitor.
