Wishes

Careful. . .
For they are words spoken out of mindless immaturity
Words spoken in childishness. . . does not dull the pain

Conquest. . .
For the moment perhaps. . . as you smile triumphantly
And when life conquers you. . .  where will you run?

Wishes. . .
Not hearing the words wished for. . . you ask not to be spoken to
One of my cherished ones you no longer wish to be

My heart despairs
I surrender

Granted. . .
I respect your wishes
In your life I no longer reside

Wisdom. . .
Learned in later years. . . life will be your teacher now
The harshest teacher. . . with no love at all

Wishes. . .
I wish I could deaden my heart to the pain
Your life has brought to mine
