Windows 10 pros & cons

So Microsoft is to give win8 & win8:1 users a free upgrade then win7 users a free upgrade nice of Mr Bill Gates im sure … what happened to win9 i want to know ?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The free upgrade is only available for the first year. Microsoft has yet to announce the software’s price for the upgrade after that one-year window.
This will come in as a update so if you do not check what is coming into your PC from Microsoft you could end up installing it by mistake then be landed with a hefty price to pay after the 1 year window. I will wait until the price for this FREE upgrade is announced before committing I advise you do the same.

  1. Hi roshario, I have been reading on the subject since I saw your blog yesterday. I have copied the Free Upgrade Offer from the Microsoft site AND the asterisk(*) note. From what I read you have to sign up with your email to receive more information. So if you don’t sign up, nothing will happen.

To explain the free upgrade during the first year, I have copied a link to a very trusted computer guru, Leo Laporte, also knows as The Tech Guy.

As far as Windows 10 is concerned, I have downloaded the Windows Technical Preview last December and I installed it on an older laptop. It works just fine and I will definitely move from Windows 7 to Windows 10; this will be the second time that I upgrade a computer operating software since 1993, at which time I went from Windows 95 to Windows 98.

In the end, if anybody feels uncomfortable, do nothing. And nothing will change.

    “Free Upgrade Offer*

Great news! We will offer a free upgrade to Windows 10 for qualified new or existing Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 devices that upgrade in the first year! And even better: once a qualified Windows device is upgraded to Windows 10, we will continue to keep it up to date for the supported lifetime of the device, keeping it more secure, and introducing new features and functionality over time – for no additional charge. Sign up with your email today, and we will send you more information about Windows 10 and the upgrade offer in the coming months. ”

*It is our intent that most of these devices will qualify, but some hardware/software requirements apply and feature availability may vary by device. Devices must be connected to the internet and have Windows Update enabled. ISP fees may apply. Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8.1 Update required. Some editions are excluded: Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 8/8.1 Enterprise, and Windows RT/RT 8.1. Active Software Assurance customers in volume licensing have the benefit to upgrade to Windows 10 enterprise offerings outside of this offer. We will be sharing more information and additional offer and support terms in coming months.

  2. I agree with Roshario because Sometimes you have to see beyond a veil of generosity to find the true motive. When someone gives you something be mindful that there may be an ulterior motive, and a cost greater than the one intended, so tread carefully my friends.
And Rosh i think the reason for no windows 9 is that some countries thing the number 9 is unlucky.
MS offering free upgrades to Win 10 is parallel to a heroine dealer giving you the first fix for free. Once you take the bait, he has his hooks in you and will bleed you dry.

    1. thanks for the reply milkman …anymore information I will pass on …..never knew 9 was an unlucky number in some countries probably because i’m not superstitious lol

My earlier comment was awaiting for moderation, probably because I had a link. I will omit the link in this comment.

If you want to upgrade, you can do it with a year and it is free. You will own your copy of Windows 10. Every laptop or desktop sold from now on is eligible for the free upgrade.

    1. Thank you davidrv thank you for reply I will certainly look into the upgrade more closely it was a PC mag that got the information from so maybe they got it wrong in the fact thats it is free only for the first year then you had to pay.

  4. @davidrv

Gotta love M£’RØ$Γ˜Ζ’T!………………..lol

    1. i wonder if we will all get a free smartphone and a computer to go with the free windows 10 because Mr Gates is very generous……………….. NOT…………………….
somewhere in the fine print you will lose all your rights and privacy …No Such thing a A Free Microsoft Product…They Will Make Billions Buy Selling Your Info!
      Or In Lamen’s Terms …. IT’S A TRAP!

    2. Too bad the user is gone.
I have backup disks for my laptop. If it is a trap, I’ll just reformat my laptop and reinstall Windows 7.
      So really, nothing to lose.

  5. Thanks for the warning Rosh, Milkman, and all, but as my dear old Mum always said; ‘If it sounds too good to be true ….it probably is’. As Milkman says, Mr Gates is an extremely wealthy man, and sure as hell didn’t collect all his wealth by giving things away. If it’s all the same, i’ll plod along with my W7, suits me fine, and when i HAVE to move on, then, and only then i will.
