I don’t know what is happening anymore on the site as some people seem to be complaining about one thing or another where has all the good times gone was once a great site to enjoy and have a great laugh seems so serious now bring back the good time when we all laughed together and enjoyed our chats

Seems to me Roxy,that its a cyclic thing…There are periods of good fun,then something is said that causes controvocy….That settles down after a while…If this site was a mutual admiration society,it would get very boring.
My opinion anyway..What do others think?
As in real life you get some people who are more complex than others, misunderstandings in what was said, misinterpretations of what was said, some with humour some with out, some nasty, vindictive bitter and jealous….some kind, happy and welcoming…….given time you gravitate towards those that you feel an infinity with, on the same wavelength as it were, find your niche……takes all kinds……..a big melting pot………And The World Turns……
Roxyanne, I’m gobsmacked at the hate milling around this site at the moment.
My belief is if you can’t say anything nice about someone, then don’t say anything.
You are so right, this was a great site with lots of laughs.
as you know roxy, sites implode upon themselves mainly due to lack of leadership at the top or certain groups wanting to take control causing the normal member to decide to part company with the site leaving nothing but a few.
Strong but fair leadership is what is required but even that became a split as certain members became favourites with certain admin and were allowed to get away with bad language crude comments etc while others were either banned temporary or permanent. Leadership has to be shown to be fair and equal to all or rifts and discontent will follow and that is what has happened here.
Personally i can go into a room and ignore sarcasm and comments made about me and carry on chatting but others cannot and leave the site for good
Rob for personal reasons let this site slide in management and control and has increased further problems by giving complete control to admin who it is true to say do not have one british member on admin causing probloems and more unhappiness that our overseas members now rule chatters with no say from from the united kingdom
As you all know i rarely use the chat rooms anymore mainly because i feel uncomfortable and unhappy in there and would prefer going to sites that make you feel welcome

I know I’ve said this before and people have disagreed with me but ……..
I used to use this site a lot – less so now. I use another site which I find much more dynamic and inclusive. There are a couple of reasons why I’ve dropped out from SC and cefnrider has highlighted some of them already but here (once again) is my main issue:
One chat room is NOT enough to sustain a diverse community of people. With only one single chat room you are limited in your options if you feel uncomfortable in it, or feel alienated, or do not find the regular attendees interesting.
DISCLAIMER: I have no problem with the chat room or the people in it and have never felt that I can’t just drop in whenever, but I can see why other people do and if they are nor blogging or using the groups then SC has little else to offer and so they leave. It happens regularly.
With at least just a few more chat rooms you can always move on if you find one room not to your taste and there would be a wider range of topics and a larger group of people to interact with. This is the very reason I choose to go elsewhere these days – SC just isn’t interesting enough at the moment to retain peoples interests. It’s a shame because SC has so much potential but right now it just feels a little static, and stale.
These are just my opinions – I know people will disagree with them, which is good because it promotes debate, but I am speaking from experience and I know of a few others who have left SC for the very same reasons.

Darkfarmowl….we have had more chatrooms before and they werent used hence there is now the ability to make your own. Plus the others that are already there are not limited by their names……UTube and Music……if they arent being used for the named purpose no reason at all they cant be used just for chatting. But we have found time and time again people prefer to use only the Community Room…previously known as the Lobby.

Thanks for your reply – if that is what has happened here on SC then I see the reasoning behind having just the one chat room. I can only speak from personal experience of other sites that have multiple chat rooms and a thriving community across all of them. Each site is different I guess.
Everything everybody says is true, but is anyone here doing anything to make the site better. Not much. Talking about the good old days is very destructive to anyones morale and as in life, the good old days is just a fiction. I am very tired of hearing about the good old days and if some of you remember it, then you should know how to make the present time better. Bring a joke, a happy thought, or a current event, but leave your longings for past times to yourselves.
As a yearling on the site, I know not of ‘the old days’. On the occasions I use the site, I do not recognise some of the points raised. Perhaps I am not well known enough to be offended. Perhaps my specs are rose tinted. have I missed something.
I enjoy the humour. I have now renewed my membership, because I am lucky to have found a reasonance in some of the chatters.
As a fairly new boy, I find all the foregoing comments extremely interesting -I am not really into Chatrooms so my only real interest are the Blogs – and I guess in this you move as the spirit moves you.

There is no school in this world where these disciplines are been tought;
Joy, laughter, humour, positive thinking, clarity of thought, faculty of thought, repartee,
interaction design and some more.
But I would expect more from some people, more humour and take it easy.
One cannot change people, one can only change himself.
Out of my view, any member of a forum should have some psychological background which makes it easier to deal with other member.

now we need a degree in psychology before being able to make or comment on a blog. My degree is in life and experience which you cant get out of a book and I believe we all have passed that degree in some form or other.

I don’t know it cf if you’ve ever have developed a film yourself? If yes, than you will remember the procedure of it. Turn the negatives into positives. A procedure that won’t work here with the people.
I have been a member on SC for quite some time.
I was so shy when I first joined.
But I was made very welcome by most.
Some don’t like me, but then I am not bovered lol
But hey lets be adults and chat, lets laugh a lot like we use too.
Life is made up of time. Lets not waste a second of it.
