TRANSIENT BEAUTY

As I sit here at my window
I see the fluttering of pink petals
Falling in profusion, off my Cherry Tree
That stands outside, tall and proud,
Gracing the flowerbed around it.
It was at its peak yesterday,
A beautiful mass of lush pink blossoms,
Radiant, awesome, breathtakingly lovely.
Oh how fleeting its beauty,
Just one day of outstanding glory
And then it’s all over.

    1. Thanks Sunflower – this poem came to me exactly as it was written, the day after the Cherry Tree outside my study window started shedding its petals.

      I really appreciate your comment.

    1. Oh surely not foreveryoung? As long as we keep having goals to achieve, mountains to climb, things to achieve, we remain in full bloom? Not in our appearance of course, we all age whether we like it or not, but in our attitude and mindset?

Thanks so much for your comment – I really appreciate it.
