  1. Organic produce = higher price.
    How can you really be sure how its grown and the soil is safe? There is no way to tell, except that the grocery store tells you so.
    Free range chickens and eggs = higher price.
    How can you be sure that the chickens have been running round in a nice friendly farm? Because the grocery store tells you so.
    In ten years they will say organic is bad for you because the conditions have not been tested.
    Seriously, what ever fad comes out, its good for a time while the price is right, then its bad for you.
    If we took notice of all the science tells us, we would starve.

Have to say Michael i am partial to a large free range egg with a dark yellow yolk, has to be said they are much tastier………fruit and veg taste the same, organic or otherwise……….just the price that differs………..we are led to believe it is best for us, but recent research shows organic has no more goodness in it than none organic ……….just the spin of merchants having a laugh. xxx

  3. I’m lucky that I get my eggs from a neighboring farm.
    Can’t get them any closer than that….
    I know the hens personally.
    Do the eggs taste different?…..don’t really know. I’m not keen on eggs. I live on a dairy farm and hate milk.

  4. I raise my own beef, pork and chicken,, I get all my sea food, fish, shrimp, crabs from our oldest son,, He shrimps in the gulf.. My wife and I raise most of our vegetable, We give our kids most of it,, meat and veggie,, uncooked that is,, We do raise some turkeys around the holidays,, Thanksgiving and Christmas.. Other than that we buy the rest.. Flour, corn meal, salt, oils, etc.. Lou

    Hello Polly, thanks for your answer. Please allow me that question; do you really believe in that what the grocery tells you? Re to the eggs I buy here in Germany.
    Every egg that is to be sold has to have a stamp on it. It’s a code if you like.
    The ombination of numbers explain as follows: open land, ground posture, cage posture, land of origin, federal state, day of laid a.s.o.

    Every organic farm in my country gets controlled 3times per year. The officials know exactly what is been produced and if products had been into contact chemicals ore even worse if they contaminated with chemicals.
    Our controlsystem is ver strict because we are importing food from Egypt to Peru. Indian corn from the USA is not been sold on our markets nor in grocery shops.
    By the way friends of me are living in the Edmonton aera so I had been informed in beforehand about that situation. Edie gets always fascinated when she comes for a visit and we go on a shopping tour. Michael
