TIN CAN BAY … Here We Come !!
The time has come ! The countdown has began ! What started as an idea more than one year ago is becoming a reality …our first Aussie chatters meet up is just a couple of days away !
We started planning long ago and hoped more Chatters would have been able to join , unfortunately for one reason or another some couldn’t make it ,others may have chosen not to , which is fine also …
Being cyber friends is comfortable ,we can sit at the PC in our pajamas , no need to comb our hair or brush our teeth ,grab a cuppa and let your fingers do the talking !
Meeting face to face is a different story ,it adds another dimension to a friendship . What once was an avatar ,a few words and a lot of imagination is now becoming a three dimensional experience!
We will no longer be “anonymous cyber friends ” .
This time we are a small group , but I hope this will just be the beginning …that other meet ups will follow in other parts of Australia, perhaps an yearly event ?
We are all seniors and many of us are facing difficulties in life ,may that be physical ,medical, financial , or some other …let that not be a deterrent to get out and enjoy life !
I’m so excited about this meet up at Tin Can Bay ! It will be an unique experience ,for me anyway !
I must go now …I have some bags to pack !!

Eckchewelly, I hope its cooler at TCB…Here we are,only 3 days into spring and its already 28C (83F )Got the fans on and thinkin seriously about cleaning the filters on the A/Cs….stuck a “post-it” reminder on the fridge to do just that ,at the end of last summer….As Neecee says,I should read my own messages. 🙂

It’s 9.30pm we just arrived at TCB …we got lost but finally found our way ,tomorrow is Breakfast at the Marina …and to plan the day !

We had a fabulous day yesterday Saturday .. We had breakfast at the Marina then went to Rainbow beach , totally different to what I’ve expected , but then that always seems to be the way !
To start with , the distances from one place to another are huge ! Although it looks so close on the map ,you certainly need a car to move around .
Lucky for us that we hired a car at the airport ,although expensive ,( specially the insurance ) it’s well worth it !
The car company recommended we get extra insurance to cover the $3,000 excess! Imagine that ! Three thousand dollars excess !
He said …not matter how small the damage ( it could be a simple scratch ) and regardless of whose fault it is the …the $3,000 stands ! So for an extra $300 ,we’ve reduced the excess to just under $400 …
This morning is off to feed the dolphins , and tonight a Father’s Day celebration BBQ …whippet is getting the music ready ! It should be fun !
