Think of Me

Reading Norma’s (Nmod) poem ‘Dancing In The Dark’ reminded me of a poem I wrote several months ago, also dealing with the pain of a break up. As with Nmod, writing helped me cope and heal. Here it is.

THINK OF ME

If a memory can hold you close
And keep you warm when the nights grow cold and dark…
Then think of me.

If a memory can fill the silence of an empty room
Or drown out the coyote’s mournful tune…
Then think of me.

If a memory can ease that lonely feeling
When all you have are the mountains and their majestic silence…
Then think of me.

And if memories aren’t enough
To fill all your empty places
Remember what you walked away from…
And think of me.
