The Lord asks you to call his bluff

The Lord asks you to call his bluff

Call on the Lord he’ll be there, when harsh winter blizzards blister your soul.
Have no fear; don’t despair, though frostbite burns, make God your goal.
Follow in the footprints of the great saints who gave their lives.
Strike the wet flint, let it spark, and bring forth flames of God’s love to the skies.
Shiver not with fear and suffering; praise the Lord with all your might, let your vision be in body, mind, and sight.

For the Lord asks you, call his bluff, call his bluff. Put him to the test.
If you believe and tell him so he will do the rest.
For the Lord asks you, call his bluff, call his bluff. Try to catch him off-guard.
It’s impossible, God’s love is immutable. Jesus is your trump card.

Keep walking to the Lord; he’ll wait, when you can no longer feel your feet.
Don’t let your heart be faint, when life’s cruelness strikes and has you beat.
Arrange your schedule to meet the demands of your faith.
Climb the snowy mountain; cling by the nails to the perilous cliff face.
If you fall, rise up again, dismiss the bruises and the pain.
Praise the Lord, charge with horse and lance. Then you shall gig the victor’s dance.

  1. When I was a child I believed in God, and when I called out to him to help me he ignored me. When I grew and was married I attended church every Sunday, but was asked to leave when my marriage broke down as it was my husband who needed the help according to the church, not me. Throughout my 55 years, God has done me no favours, so why would I call his bluff. If he appeared in front of me and I could see him and touch him the first thing I would do is tell him there are no second chances with me. I don’t owe god anything or need anything from him.

  2. Hi Kiwigirl. First off , I am not a church-going religious person. I teach yoga and believe in self-evolving. I was brought up in homes , I had no parents, I loved my wife dealy, she died of bowel cancer at the age of 38.I could say, God dealt me a dud hand right from the word go. I look at the wonders of nature, how all the creatures get on with life wonderfully well. However, some greater intelligence gave man / woman self-awarness, choice, we get oursleves into all kinds of trouble. I can only tell you Kiwigirl , I have had personal experiences that leave me in no doubt there is a higher intelligence.
As for my hymns , they are a form of self-expression, and are in no way aimed at lecturing or convert anybody. Love Robert
