Thanks To My Senior Chatter Friends

To all my Senior Chatter friends,
At last, after four and one half years of endless doctor appointments, MRI’s, CT scans, blood work, and numerous other tests, I have an answer.
I have been diagnosed with Myasthemia, which in simple terms, a muscle weakness caused by the interruption of signals from the brain to the muscle.
I will be meeting with my doctor to discuss treatment in three weeks
It has been a very strange journey for me. This disease hit me like a freight train, catching me completely off guard, and taking away many things from me.
But it has also given me something in it’s place..
Courage.
Courage to make some difficult decisions and choices..
And something else…
If I had not gotten ill, I would never have found this site, and would never have met all of you, the wonderful, caring people of Senior Chatters.
I came here at the lowest point in my life, and you gave me strength, and hope and a renewed faith in the human spirit.
Many of you face your own challenges, and when I hear you talk I think, if they can do it, so can I.
And though we don’t always see eye to eye, that is ok, as that is what makes a family, does it not?
You are all very important to me and I love you dearly

    So very glad you finally got some answers and hopefully the doctors will be able to help you heal, perhaps not all the way, but enough so that you can function in the ways you need and want to.

    i love you,ellie…and i’m here or on facebook or on skype if you ever need me..if you can’t sleep at night find me..i’m usually still up..lol…you have a difficult road ahead but you’re not going alone..you have all of us right there next to you..if you’re feeling down,tell us..if you’re having a good day,tell us..we”ll celebrate your good times and mourn your bad ones…we won’t let you go now..so you’re stuck with us..lol…take good care of yourself…xxx kat

    ps..it’s always easier to fight when the “demon” has a name and you and your dr. have a game plan

    Miss Ellie….. Wear that badge of Courage with Pride, you have earned it!!!! As Kat said…… Knowing what is wrong and having a name now is so important…..     Ellie, I really believe that messages like this are so uplifting to many people, especially those going through their own trials. I think it is a wonderful testimony to you and the other wonderful people on this site that we can share and trust. The helping hand or kind word is always there.     Good that you have at last found an answer to what was plaguing you for so long. It’s still a bugger and you’re facing it with courage. Good for you. We can either let our afflictions make us bitter or better. The latter is the best option. ((((((Ellie)))))
