Tania

I have been a member of Senior Chatters for a lot of years now, when I joined I tried the chat rooms, They were very busy Then , and I am only a two finger typist, so they were literally all Hi’s and Bye’s to me. I then went to shoutbox where we used to have lot’s of fun.

I was asked to post some blogs, and so I tried that and found that I really liked to do stories, and jokes.

I never ever try to offend anyone. As you will all know you can never please everyone. It would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing.

Having been in the Forces with my hubby , and then on to shop management, I have met people from all walks of life.None especially the one’s I met in the forces in Germany were ever offended by what people joked about.

I was and still am a reserved type of person, The lads in Germany thought I was a snob , because I could not look at them when I first went out there, they soon changed all of that .ha ha

So please if you do not like what you see in blogs, why not just pass by and go to what you do like…no-one is here to hurt anyone’s feelings.

Thank you…Tania.

  1. Tania,
Carry on with your jokes and blogs as you were asked to. You only have to answer to Rob. Your jokes and blogs are appreciated by many. Years and years ago, and again now. Yourself and others are a credit to the site with blogs jokes photos groups message board shout etc that is what makes a great site. Many options for everyone. Enough options so that if a member doesnt like one option they can move on without having to be a bully about it.

  2. Agree Tania, I have enjoyed all your blogs, and it is a very true saying you can please some of the people sometimes but you cant please all the people all the time. Smile and the world smiles with you.

    1. Tania agree with Grandmaj and everybody else enjoy your stories and jokes and you can’t please everyone one but do hope you know that I enjoy reading what you post here on S.C. 🙂

  3. I really enjoy your jokes and want more .
Jokes often need a fall guy to make it funny .today it’s very difficult to say anything that may be classified as offensive to someone .
I was looking at TV ” THE NILE: EGYPT’S GREAT RIVER WITH BETTANY HUGHES ” .
For me it was strange that she felt the need to apologize before reading a quotation thousands of years old from ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphic Writing .
We are not ancient egyptians and do not hold the same values we just want to know what was written
It seemed quite acceptable to quote pharaohs boasting about the number of enemies slaughtered without mercy . But it was necessarily to apologize before saying the pharaoh took women without the husbands permission – Bettany Hughes OBEa distinguished historian , had to say , and this is my paraphrase ” the pharaoh was not a nice man ” because of this one quotation .
On this basis many verses from the bible could require a waring before being quoted sa the more sensitive amongst us WILL be offended .
I have seen some good jewish jokes in the jewish chronicle in the past and my irish grant mother told irish jokes .

    1. Thank you geoff2015uk, I will do more jokes, My Grandmother was also Irish, and my grandfather was a yorkshireman. I already stated that I have met many people from all creeds , and different walks of life,I lived in both Germany, then we lived in Turkey as well. I do not see a problem

  4. It would appear that my argument about stereotyping people in bad ways is never good has been totally missed. The anti Irish jokes are based at all the Irish people being stupid or thick. Times and opinions have moved on and these jokes are no longer acceptable in this country, Try to find some comedian using this type of joke in the mainstream and I doubt you will find any. In the 70s this was fine, we have moved on. making jokes to the detriment of one section of society cannot be right. I would use one last thing to use as a yardstick. If a joke is funny it is funny anywhere. If you use the Paddy jokes in a bar in Belfast I think you would find not only a crowd of offended people but also you might be lucky to get out of there unscathed. People who get offended are not always as outspoken as me but they can be offended never the less. Believe me Irish people are offended by being called thick as a race.

  5. Maybe I’ll regret getting involved but I’d just like to point out there is an actual group for jokes and all Tania’s posts are exactly that – jokes not blogs.
