TALK IS NOT CHEAP…….WELL …NOT ON HERE ..

I have ,over the years been associated with many chat sites .and I must say ,this is the first time I have been asked for money . think it is sad that older people /pensioners should be asked for money to continue chatting.
this should be made more clear at the start , I for one will not be giving any part of my hard earned pension to continue on here ,when there are excellent chats available that are totally free , and possibly better .If money is no object to you , then good luck to you . NIMROD…… over and out

  1. OMG Nimrod…what did you think the free 14 days trial was. Yes it does cost for here, and yes there are other free sites around but you will also eventually notice those free sites tend to be rather loaded down with numerous advertisements. Unfortunately it costs to run this site and rather than fill it up with other junk, Rob chose to charge a fee and he has kept it as low as possible. Happy Chatting wherever you may end up Nimrod. You will be missed…:-)

  2. Nimrod. This is a different kind of site and those that can and will pay for it have a choice. I have not been on a lot of chat sites but I did try a few and this is the only one that I came, tried, and stayed. I think there is help for people who cannot afford to pay here,but I am not sure about that. I believe that free goods and services should be for those that cannot afford them and not for all pensioners.

  3. Even for cheap stuff produced in South-East-Asia one has to pay good money. Where on earth one gets quality for nothing?? Here on and with SC one gets what one has paid for;
    nice people, intersting blogs, great chats, wonderful groups and a helping hand when needed.

    So if you don’t appreciate that, you should leave cos there is no alternative to it. Michael

  4. It’s of total choice to stay or go. The cost to be on this site is more than worth it. It cost money to keep this thing going. Rob doesn’t have the annoying popups and so many other annoying things other sites have. It’s a very small price to pay for what it is. That’s the good thing about freedom of choice. We are free to pay or go.
    In most cases you get what you pay for.

  5. I often wonder how people can buy computers, probably have a mobil phone, a TV set and lord knows what else and yet can’t afford this chat site. It boggles my mind, because it’s not that expensive.

  6. I’m a lifer on here and it was the best bargain I have found in my lifetime! I can sign in 24/7 and most likely find a very nice person to talk to without advertising getting in the way! The security and monitoring is worth the money alone. No hassle, no mess, no fuss. SC will always be a stop off place for me.

  7. This site is worth the money, no jolly pop ups that cover the screen and you can’t see anything else. Money well spent Nimrod, nothing is free in this world.

  8. Some of the comments suggest nimrod is ignorant … which is not helpful. At first, I also didn’t realize there was a cost. If Pat and Mez hadn’t convinced me to pay and join, I wouldn’t have – think that was 4 years ago.

  9. My son suggested I join a chat site. I hesitated. My experience with chat sites in the past were disappointing, some downright disgusting. What I was hoping for was a site where seniors could go and talk about life, interests, experiences. SC is perfect for me. If I feel like talking, there are friendly folks ready to welcome me in the chat room. The groups are full of varied interests, and again welcoming. I live alone, and in the morning I sit down with a cup of coffee and see what’s happening here. If 3 a.m comes and I can’t sleep, it’s SC for me. I never feel alone.
    I survive on a small income, and I never considered my computer a luxury. It has always been my connection to the world. During the 12 day trial period, I thought about not spending the money, but I liked what I saw. I did. I don’t regret it at all.
