On our riverside walk early the other evening stepping carefully to avoid the wonderful mess the cows are leaving behind , Fliss was busy looking for anything to chase and I was watching the owls they have started to come out during the day a lot I think they must have babies . Last week there were 4 geese and they seemed be in a circle , in the middle of the circle were 2 mother ducks and their offspring all paddling merrily a way down the river . The geese seemed to be providing a protective barrier for these ducks and ducklings . Two days ago , there they were again only this time there were 5 geese and in the centre of their circle just the baby ducklings no mother ducks at all , I wonder if they had asked the geese to duck sit whilst they went off to do a bit of retail therapy and to get away from the children for awhile , I hope nothing has happened to the mothers I shall try and keep an ‘eye ‘ out for them . How I wish we humans were as caring and helpful as these geese are it sure would make our world a better place , and to finish off a lovely walk on the way back there were 2 rainbows so that made me really appreciate nature and God’s beauty all around us so peaceful , a world away from the fighting and troubles and unrest that others are having to endure .

We have a lovely river walk like this in my town, too, complete with the ducks.
I feel so lucky to have such a great place nearby.
What a lovely blog laff, I did enjoy reading that. We live by a lake and it is lovely to see the ducklings, moor hens with their young and the waterdragons, all have become used to people walking by and come to us for a food treat.
Thanks laff xxx
So lovely laff and glad you enjoyed your walk. I live in suburbia and would have to drive a distance to experience that – I miss the country xoxox
