Staying Busy helps!

Losing my husband just over a month ago, caregiver to my mom with severe dementia, being on lock down, and laid off from my job…

Staying busy with home improvement projects, organizing, cleaning, creating new food recipes, walking, working in my yard as often as possible….  Finished cleaning/clearing my huge two car garage of my husbands over 70 yrs of accumulated items!  (my husband was 18 years older than me so had much more stuff that I have and he rarely trashed anything)   Some of it was emotional, some lovely found mementos, treasured memories, and just so much junk I have no idea why it was saved?

Staying busy has really saved me from myself, and the help from so many lovely people here online!

Bless you!

    1. Some days I feel strong and other days I really feel like I am at my break point… but I push through! Thank you for reaching out to me! Very thoughtful!

  1. First of all, please accept my condolences on the loss of your husband. As an RN, I salute you for taking on the responsibility of caring for your mom. My current job is in case management, and I see family members often stressed out to the breaking point trying to supervise and care for a loved one 24/7, with all their normal daily chores to do as well. Much respect to you! Many people would opt for placement in a facility, and I don’t look down on that decision, but those that choose to keep their mom/mother-in-law/grandma home with them…. I don’t know but it seems like they have more peace in the long-run. Anyway, I hope all works out amazingly for you.
