If the idea of touching a snail makes your skin crawl, then the newest trend in beauty is not for you.
At least one spa in Tokyo, Japan, is offering patrons the opportunity to have live snails crawl all over their faces—for a price, of course.
Proponents of the snail facial claim that the slime the slow-moving mollusks secrete contains compounds that help regenerate skin cells and promote healing.

Snails – or more accurately, their guts and slime – have become the latest fad in skin care. Hailed for its active ingredients, snail extract is popping up in beauty lines across South America and skin care mecca South Korea. Both low- and high-end companies have taken to the sticky ingredients, which debuted on the market in the mid ’90s and range from seemingly tame to slightly bizarre (BB Cream features “mucus from red ginseng-fed snails”).
So , dear gardeners out there before you grab your torch and go for a midnight snail squashing dance …Think….You could be stomping on a small fortune !

Arrrrghhhh, nmod… I squished one once and it went right thru my toes and I about passed out. LOL I screamed so loud and was so disgusted when I saw what I had stepped on. It was at the bottom of the stairs (carpeted). Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…. will never forget that experience.

Oh Pam. I would have too. It’s just about my worst nightmare. I almost stepped on one (a slug) in the dark once, my toe barely touched it and that was enough to traumatize me!
Think I would sooner keep my wrinkles….when I get some….lol
Lol Faye ,if live snail facials it’s not for you ….could I tempt you with some other organic based cosmetics ? Chicken bone marrow moisturizers, bull semen shampoo ,beetles lipstick ? 🙂 🙂 … STOP ! Don’t Shoot me yet ! Just google it ! Apparently they are commonly used and good for us !

Ask oldbull hehehe…………Got the best little snail catcher in my house.Francesca she is 6 and often see her with six or seven of them crawling up her arms.will watch and see if her arms are soft hehehe .
