Simply Love …
Valentine’s day it’s only a few hours from now , and although I particularly never celebrated it ,I still think it’s nice to have a day where we celebrate “love” .
I only experienced a lovely gesture on Valentine’s day twice in my whole life and neither of them from my “loved one ” ( still survived , lol ) ! 1- a friend presented me with a red rose once and said ” happy Valentines” that was about 20 years ago … 2- my older son simply said ” happy Valentines mum ” that was also many years ago .
Now, that I never celebrated this special ” lovers day ” does not mean I have never experienced love in my life …I have! I know how wonderful it’s to love and be loved ! That also happened a long time ago …. Never mind , I still remember ! 🙂
Today ,I would like to share with you all chatters on here one of my favorite quotes about ” love ” by the great Poet Pablo Neruda .
And I would LOVE IT if everyone who reads this would contribute a few words of what “love ” means to you …either in a quote form as I did or something of your own !

Love is feeling at home in each other’s arms …
Hubby always got me red roses for the day. One year we got each other very large cards, the following year hubby told me that those cards were in a cupboard and maybe we could reuse them as they were still in the envelopes.
I wrote a loving message and the date in his card and we swopped them on the day.
We did this for 17 years untill he died and every year the cards took pride of place by my roses on the mantle.
Unfortunatly I dont know where the cards are now and although he has been gone 4 years now, I still get a bunch of roses on the day, although I do buy them myself.
How beautiful ! To have those memories of your love for each other ! Simply Love ! I’m so happy to hear you buy yourself roses on the day …I always buy myself flowers … Thank you for your contribution and Happy Valentine’s day !

Are you a Chilena by birth? I used to memorize Neruda’s poetry to broaden my Spanish vocabulary. I’ve forgotten it now but I used to have memorized from his young poet’s days, Abeja blanca (que zumbas in mi alma from “Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Desperation.”) Love? It changes as the years go flying more and more quickly; changes from ardor and passion, to commitment and comfort. How is that? OB
No ,I’m not Chilean by birth , but I used to read Neruda’s poetry at school .if you have memorized his poems ,you probably already had a good Spanish vocabulary to start with as Neruda’s poetry it’s not the easiest to understand when you are just learning the language .
Here is a few lines of the poem for you , see how much of it you remember .

Alfonsina was obsessed with the sea, she wrote numerous poems about it .
