  1. Maybe I am fortunate, as the “right” people have been there at various stages when I needed them; and sadly, in one instance, their impact was not fully realised until after a particular period had passed. More recently, I have been privileged to find people who, at crucial times and through unexpected avenues, have become friends, mentors and confidants. And on more than one occasion, I have had the opportunity to help several others going through similar periods. A most satisfying process that helps to keep the scales of life balanced.

  2. I too agree Ozzy, I have been very lucky to have a lot of special people in my life that have been there for me and I don’t know what I would have done without them. I truly believe what goes around comes around, as I too have always been there for my friends close and far, new and old. They say people come into your life for a reason or a season. I too have found this true. Michael I feel sad to think this has not happened to you as yet, and I do mean that. Who knows who or why you may just meet that person that you need at that time here on SC. Good luck and I really hope you do.

  3. vonMichaelm most of my life, People have been there at times and not been there at times. Having special people help is almost miraculous and having no one to help is awful. awful. awful. I hope that you find someone special soon. Having help makes all the difference in the world.

  4. Hello Ozzy, hello Debbie, hello Rose,

thank you so much for your reply. Each of them offers me a once-over your life as well as the experience you’ve made with other people!

I believe many things in life are easier said than done. To find an answer
to my question depends on generation, nationality, place of location and
of course the time one lives in. In hard times people need each other more than in good times. Like on a sailing boat where one hand needs the other.
To judge my question correctly you should know among my acquaintances
    I do have a few I would call ** being a friend **.
I don’t speak for myself no, I’m thinking of the kids from today who very
seldom know what friendship really means. But that’s also a matter of the time we live in. Michael

  5. What a relief Michael that you do have friends, thought you are too nice a guy not to have any…………….. i think that at the end of the day it is the family unit that are there when you need them…………and hopefully the young of today still have the family network to turn too. xxx
