rainbows and unicorns

I wrote a blog yesterday that was deleted. It was an interesting lesson. We talk about supporting each other and being honest, yet ultimately its all about rainbows and unicorns. And I’m fine with that. I can blow sunshine up skirts among the best! And I plan to be a committed member of that club in future interactions. I love everyone, no one is mean, and we are all wonderful.

We are selective in what we like to hear and what upsets us. Clearly this is a valuable learning process. I’m grateful today, however for my values, judgment, and memory. I’m also grateful for the blatant clues received in such methods of international communication–what is welcome and appropriate, and what is not. So, for future reference, if anyone feels a breeze coming up from below, its only me blowing that required sunshine!

Fondly,

Catalpa

  1. Hello Catalpa, now I maybe way off track here, but reading between the lines your blog was deleted because it was deemed that it was inappropriate for our delicate shell like ears…………if that is the case then It would seem that blogs are only allowed that paint a pretty Rose tinted picture……..honesty and straight talking are right out of the window……..ermmm……..if I have misinterpreted what you are saying just shoot me now……….but I wont be blowing the required sunshine…lol….only when its due…..

  2. Hi catalpa. I had time to read your blog before bedtime yesterday.
I have never liked censorship. I think that at our age, what can be harmful? We are not sharing medication, right?
I like to read what people think, what makes us different.
Thanks to the ones that eventually get through. Keep it real.
    David

  3. Catalpa, I missed your blog and am so sorry about that. Cudos for you and this blog and getting your message out. I went and searched for the blog rules and could not find them. You have so much wit and ability, I do hope you will keep writing. I did see share your life experiences, opinions etc.

  4. I read your blog ,I commented on it.I will say again that my thinking is people shouldn’t talk about others in the room ,if that person isn’t there .Thanks for your blogs Catalpa hope you keep writing them .

  5. I also had the time to read your blog , Catalpa and I can understand why it could have been deemed inappropriate .
It could be argued that the theme ( gossiping ) wasn’t / isn’t of interest to the ” General Googler ” therefore Mr. Google wouldn’t have been impressed ! the blog in itself was well written and quite harmless I thought ,but it had the potential to become explosive ! and honestly ,why risk bring the whole site down , due to some careless behavior of some members in the chat room ?
You brought up a valid point of interest to other members on here ,and many would appreciate your concern ,me included .
The difference as I see it ,is that this is an internal issue , and Blogging about it would make it external ,but of not interest whatsoever to the rest of the world .

    1. I’m certainly not angry about it being removed, mod. and possibly it was the wrong forum to discuss. This isn’t my site, and if it wasn’t in accordance to the guidelines then they were right to remove. I suppose I was angry and seeking a way to address the issue. However, it is now in the past, and time to move forward.

      1. michael, that works for you but people come to a chat room to chat, that is usually a group thing. They can post in here and they can post on other sites. I love chatting and many of us do.

      2. Hi Catalpa , we used to have a group for people to discuss issues they might have ,but it got quite nasty at times ,and wasn’t really helping anyone ,so it was deleted .
I think that perhaps this is an issue that could be re- addressed.
( the issue of having a place where to discuss sensitive topics )

    2. nmod, I cannot comment on the contents of Catalpa’s blog but I do disagree that “the theme gossiping wasn’t or isn’t of interst to the “General Googler”. I googled gossip not too long ago and found a truckload of information.
I have heard various rules about blogs, but I wish I could locate them. I know Rob has the right to remove any blog without explanation, but I still like to understand things and maybe the rules were in a blog of Rob’s. I do want to reread those rules.

      1. Rose ,Gossip may be of interest to the general googler ,if the person gossiped about is a well known public figure .
This issue was among members of our own site , therefore of little if any interest out of here .
This is what I’ve meant to say .

  6. Perhaps, perhaps the Admin couldn’t believe your writing??? But let me tell you this, you are not the only and not the first one who complained about some people’s behaviour in the chat-room.

Be that as it may Catalpa and join me, I exchange ideas and meanings with my friends by private messages, the best way avoiding becoming a topic of a nasty discussion.

  7. Hi Cat,I read your missing blog and I thought it was fairly harmless and I thought if anothers nose needed putting out of joint that it was justified.I also understand its deletion,no doubt taken as a business decision and thats fair enough.Hope you are not discouraged from having a whinge when you feel it is necesary though.

  8. Hi Cat, I read your blog, I couldn’t see a problem with it, there were no names mentioned. You just told how it was in the room at the time, those kind of gossipy people should be brought into line at the time it happened.
