Question for Rob
was wondering Rob about the featured chatters, i take a look at them every day, and occasionally see one of my friends, who i know visits the site regularly, and that is good for the newbies taking a look….. but more often I see peeps who havent visited for a long time, today 10 months!!!!!!!…how can that show newbies what a lovely place Senior Chatters is? and introduce them to some of the very many lovely people here?

Annie , I have noticed alot of S.C. members have not been in for a year and wondered if Rob contacts them to see why they haven’t been into the S,C, Notice that they do write not active sometimes on the members profile and wonder if some one who has not be active should be removed. Marie
If someone is a lifetime member, then they are a lifetime member. If they are a newer member with a specific term of membership they can either renew or not at the end of their term. People should only be removed for cause, such as breaking the rules. Sometimes life prevents people from being active for long periods but that does not cancel their membership.
Just my opinion.

what about the ones who leave after their 2 weeks free and never come back?..their profiles should be deleted after no activity for a couple months or more
Kat and everyone else…..people who dont take out a membership and have not visited for quite some time are removed. There are also many who only come to have a look and visit the one time. If I see they have only been in the once and havent been in for a month they are removed but it is a long slow process going through them all and time consuming plus many commented on friends from their friends lists disappearing….this is why…those friends dont visit and havent got membership…:-)
Yes you are right Merryjay and Paddy . I guess they can’t be removed even if they haven’t been into S.C. for month’s or a year as they have paid to be a life time member.
Many of these absent lifetime and paid Members probably change email address thoroughout their membership yet dont come in here to alter it on their profiles. For those who have the same address they will be getting update info from Rob when he sends out newsletters so they still know we exist, just chose not to come here for their own reason….LOL
I don’t agree with lifetime members being removed from the list . That’s why we’ve paid our lifetime membership fees . Unless of course we are dead , lol
They arent nmod. If paid they are left in just in case they feel they can return at some time…:-)

Thanks for the replies, I wasnt suggesting at all that lifetime members should be removed if they are not active, I would not agree with that at all. I merely thought that perhaps peeps who have not been active for a period of time, should maybe not appear on the featured chatters…just a thought
Sorry for the late reply. The featured chatters is something I will be addressing in the next update of the site. Hopefully in the next few weeks. At the minute, it randomly displays the profiles of ALL members which isn’t ideal…

quick and dirty little fix 🙂 – The featured chatters list on the login homepage will now display recently active members rather than random members.
