Priceless Happiness

“We all live with the objective of being happy; our lives are all different and yet the same.”
-Anne Frank

This quote stopped me dead in my tracks; wow; if Anne felt her life was different yet the same as others, then mine is surely cause for great happiness!

Name the one priceless thing, that in the last month, has brought you the most happiness.

Mine would be…a 4 yr old, Kendall, who is like a granddaughter to me…I casually said, “thank you madame” to her. She whispered, “Nana, that is a very bad word! Its naughty. Now Santa is going to bring you coal.” I had to hold my smile and laughter, when I realized she meant the word “damn.” I tried to explain the difference; Kendall didnt get it, I realized I was glad she didnt – would have missed the coal story.

  1. Helen last week we were taking Charliegirl for a walk and a beautiful butterfly flew down to her and fluttered around her face. She sat and watched, the look on her face was priceless, pure happiness. The butterfly followed us on our walk for quite a way and certainly made my heart sing xxx

  2. Anne was truly an inspiration.. her perspective on life was rare and beautiful. The quote really makes one think…
~Well my one thing just happened last night. Sent a text to my 20-yr-old daughter telling her I couldn’t wait up for her after work b/c I was too tired, but there was pizza in the fridge. She sent me a snap chat pic of her making a sad face and had drawn big blue tears falling from her eyes down to the ground.. lol. She, for whatever reason, still loves spending time w/ me 🙂 Made my heart very glad and tonight I AM waiting up for her so we can spend some special “girl time” together.

      1. I love that I have granddaughters who will yell across the gym or pool gym or parking lot – I love you Nana! They are 15 and 17 yrs old – a true blessing, I dont see very many teenagers doing this. Touches my heart deeply everytime. You have a wonderful daughter. Thank you for sharing. xx

  3. Happiness…..so many things make me happy…..but yes….it’s one of granddaughters….staying overnight with me whispered….Nana you are the bestest Nana in the world and I love you to the moon and back….so precious….xxxxxx M

  4. My oldest girl Lauren, (the one with the boys) and her partner of 6+ years are finally talking about getting married. I gave her the engagement ring I wore. The diamond in that ring is over 100 years old…it belonged to my grandmother…handed down to my mother…then to me. My daughter will be the 4th generation to wear that diamond. The smile on her face when I told her that was priceless!

    1. Val what a wonderful thing to do to pass the diamond ring to your daughter. I have my Mother’s diamond ring that is 92 years old that her father gave her for her 16th birthday and I it will pass it on to my daughter.
