Perturbed

The blog about the Temporary Foreign Workers has upset me a little, first because I’m a Canadian, second because I was not aware of the phenomenon.
But now I am aware. I will look differently at an establishment that employs such employees.
I have children and grandchildren. Although I’m a few years from retirement, I can’t lay back and think, “Well, I’ve done my part. It’s their turn now”. It’s NEVER over!
In today’s world it’s easier to make a difference just because of the means of communication. Something happened a couple days ago (or an hour ago), and it doesn’t take long to inform a lot of people. All a person needs to do is sift through the çrap that we receive daily in the mail, and emails.
I guess that being a union member since 1976, I still strive for better working conditions for anyone, union or not. Injustice today is no different than when I was younger.

If you’re in Canada, spread the word in the Tim’s network…

  1. No, sorry to say that, time hasn’t changed since, it has even grown worse. Perhaps you don’t feel so in Canada, but here in Europe! Just search for the unemployment figures of the young one in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece etc.etc.

To make ** bucks ** as much as one can, within a short time and with as little affort as possible, that seem to be the slogan of time we all live in.

By the way I live in Germany where it is no different.

  2. The conditions of the workers are determined by people who want to make as much money as possible for the longest amount of time, so without government support or unions, workers are exploited to the fullest extent possible. Here in the USA, our unions are being destroyed and the government is controlled by the power brokers and we are spiraling downwards in equality and justice for all.

    1. Rose, You sure are right about that and the people making the money sure aren’t going to fix it !, Seems the more they get the more they want. It has got out of control !
