Peace of Mind
i am making my favorite dinner, roasted chicken with bread crumbs, potatoes mashed with gravy, dressing and corn on the cob. I acknowledge already, that is is a sodium delight. But it is little things like this that bring my life back to normal, after not one, but two home invasions. Now, while we were let off easy, only 2 laptops stolen (but mine had all my photos and 4 books on it, not backed up of course), my peace of mind is gone. I came home from work today to see the back screen door askew and what would have originally been, “oh daughter hit the prop with her arm,” has now become, “Oh no! Do I enter! Are thieves still in my house?” Deciding to enter as the three dogs were happily ruffing away, found everything copacetic. However, I lay in bed at night, adrenaline rushing, wondering if we will be targeted again, in spite of locked screen door, locked storm door, yardstick wedge, bowling ball (so hubby doesn’t trip over wedge and kill self!), wind chimes hanging from hinge, and couch pushed against front door! Hubby spent hours locating serial numbers of stolen computers, (now have info all in one place) and making a spread sheet of such info for other electronics. And I am put out that I am without a laptop for a week.

Great Hap that they didn’t want anything else, yes it could be confronting now as they have invaded your space .Hap so glad you have your big dogs to guard you lol .
Dear haps, dreadful experience love, glad you have your dogs, will take time to settle down, you will, just have all the security you need love and rest peacefully again xxxx
I am so dreadfully sorry to hear about your home invasions Hap – that happened to us once and the feeling that teenagers were rifling through our personal property was absolutely sickening. In our cases, it was teenagers – I saw them run away when I got home.
The mess they left behind was indescribable – everything had been yanked out of the cupboards and was strewn all over the floor. Because I’d interrupted them, they didn’t get away with much, but it was still an awful experience.
I hope it never happens to you again. They do say that having dogs is the best defense against home invasions.
Hap, so sorry this has happened to you,,,,,but remember you are safe as well as the rest of your family.
Personal objects can be replaced, but people you love cant be.
Time to gear up, get a security system you can monitor your home with and catch these idiots!!!
Hugs to you my friend and may you and yours stay safe!!! ♥♥♥
