My Favourite thing to do!

I know that I like coming online and doing blogs, but my most favourite thing to do is walk.I originally come from a rural town. There were farms everywhere, also lots of good walks away from the traffic and the town.I just like to be walking , be it through the woods or down the lanes, over a common, where ever. It is so refreshing and calming.I still do walk where I live now, but not for four hours at a time as I used to, there are not the walks here away from the roads.

My mother loved visiting London, not for me I am afraid.I hate tall buildings, and feel trapped in Cities.I could never be a city person.

A very calming place in my home town is the Priory, the grounds are so peaceful, and it was once the place for Durham miners to come to recover after illness as the grounds  lead onto the shore overlooking Morcambe bay. Now monks have taken over the Priory, and they are really lovely people.

I just like to go down the lanes on to the shore, walk along the shore then up over a common.Always something good to see, be it fishermen, or different wildlife. I just love it.

So now you know my favourite thing to do, Anyone else got anything they can share?

I am not good  at blogging real blogs LOL, Thank you x

  1. I am not a city person either Tania. Like being able to leave the windows opens and doors unlocked with out the fear of a home invasion or even people being able to see in. But my favourite thing to do is, spend time with my grandchildren 🙂

  2. Your mention of the Durham miners going to Morcombe bay for respite reminds me that for some years I represented a company based in Aycliffe, County Durham – my one regret was that I never got to see Durham Cathedral! However,y favourite thing nowadays is a drive in my car and walk along the extensive coastline.

    1. Yes, Drummer, I remember the Durham miners walking along the coast road into town, when I was younger. The I am not sure of the date, but the Priory was closed, and left to go to rack and ruin, until the Bubbhist monks came along and they have done a marvellous job on it.

      1. There is a pathway from the Priory though woods to the shore , Drummer, a very peaceful place, The monks have a work shop there where they make the busts of things , then send them abroad.

  3. Ah what memories, my favourite place is out in the country away from crowds, the peace and quiet with only the birds and animals, the wind softly blowing the crops and trees gently swaying. A short trip from the farm to the river to throw a line in and perhaps catch a fish, how relaxing it is to watch the water slowly flowing past. The best time of year when all still green before the hot summer arrives and crops are harvested and paddocks turn yellow and brown. How lovely is the smell of rain on the dry ground which will once again be green.

    1. 5min break, exactly what I mean, we sometimes get dolphins along the coast as well. I love to be on the shore when the wind is howling and it is bucketing it down, to see the massive waves, and getting soaked , so refreshing.
