Mr Lark & Mrs Owl

In the old Oak Tree

There was a terrible row in the old oak tree,
All the birds came out to see,
Mrs. Lark and Mr Owl were exchanging words and scowl for scowl,
They were neighbours not for long,
And going at it hammer and tong.
Her complaint was of a young owl’s wail, and she fought him tooth and nail.
He complained of a noisy affray, as he tried to sleep the day away.
The wind and their tempers rose, In fact they nearly came to blows.
“I’d be ashamed if I was forced to come out in the dark”
Said the very angry Mrs Lark,
Mr. Owl said with a wink.
“You’ve never heard of Owl pie I think”
