Doctors Verses PharmacistsDoctors Versus Pharmacists Who would you trust more to prescribe medicine, your doctor or the phamacist? While your family physician may know what the health…

Until recently I’d have said the doctor, until some idiot quack at a local hospital managed to prescribe three times the maximum dose of a certain medication resulting in the need for a friend of mine to be rushed into a different hospital almost at death’s door.

Pharmacist……and on the point of medical matters who do you trust to take your blood pressure correctly, even when the same machine is being used……I could write a book about this issue….

Yes growing old is a privilege that not everyone experiences. It is also a great deal better when you have a partner to share it with, to sit on the park bench with, and to comfort you during surgery and illness. Being old and single and in chronic daily pain, it is not so wonderful. I have been alone for 20 years and gone through 13 operations and would loved to have had someone to hold my hand, give me a hug and tell me everything will be okay. Also to help me when discharged home. I have 2 sons, but it is not the same as a loving partner. But hey them’s the breaks. So enjoy your life together, and appreciate each other. I am in my late 70’s, so a little ahead of you. I take opioids for my severe pain, but the Government of Australia is cracking down on these because of people overdosing on them, and I may not be able to get them soon. Painful old age is not good, so if I can’t get my pain relief, then life will be unpleasant. Sorry to sound dreary, but not all old age is good. Enjoy yours with your partner, and may there be many more years for you to enjoy. Take care xoxo
