A Little about me…I am a single adult christian Combat Disabled Viet Nam Veteran I reside in Laughlin, Nevada USA 60 miles southwest of Las Vegas on the Colorado river bordering Arizona and California. I bought a condo here in 2005 as well as a Toyota Tundra which will finally be paid off in March!! then I’ll be very close to being debt free!!! I have been widowed since 1978 no children, content being single but still enjoy companionship less the drama of course…I am 5’11 with light brown short hair and extra padding that happens when you enjoy the way you prepare food!!! Imagine that!!The down side of being single is week ends and holidays cause all of my married friends have other obligations so its far n few in between when ya can actually talk too them, so I keep my self busy with various projects, I paint with acrylics on canvas mostly waterfalls , seascapes, landscapes and monuments which I always donate to less fortunate folks or organizations to help them raise funds, i figure its a gift to be freely shared, if you can put a smile on someones face it has served its purpose.Through my church in Key West, Florida my 2nd home I support an Orphanage in Sierra Leonne In West Africa I adopted 7 kids I provide for their school uniforms, medical needs and tuition and Christmas and Easter parties a little kindness goes a lot farther than getting all political and the rest of the hot air that goes with it.!!! Who knew!!…I also wrote published and copyrighted The American Veterans Bill of Rights, have helped several hundred combat Veterans of both Viet Nam and Gulf War undermine the bureaucrats with in the Department of Veterans Affairs so these brave men and women could navigate through the maze of bureaucracy and get their so richly deserved benefits.Currently working on a 3 year project too build a new Armed Forces Retirement home in Laughlin, Nevada for retired, active duty, guard reservists and 100% disabled Vets that are suffering from PTSD and TBI Tramatic Brain Injury, current DOD guidelines will not allow us entry in the other 2 facilities in DC or Gulf Port, so I thought lets build one for us….that caters to our specific disabilities and have the other ammenties these other facilities enjoy, we served and paid a high price we certainly deserve the same care as the rest of the gold brickers in the other facilities. well that’s enough about me my first name is Kent by the way Have a great day , and I really like the people here and love the chat room too….

Welcome Kent, and thankyou for everything you do, my son is a Marine GySgt. And i am so very proud of all of our men and women who serve and have served, without them watching our backs we would not be who we are.
Hats off to you! How encouraging to know of people like you who make the best of things and also have the desire to give and to help others in so many ways. We need to clone you! (Joking – I don’t like that idea!). I hope this site goes well for you. I am in Idaho – the beautiful northern part. I am a widow and have lonesome days too, even though I have family and many friends near. It’s different that you “live” alone and don’t have anyone to share the daily moments, a sunset…so much more. I do have two little dogs that make me smile. I trust the Lord to get me through each day of my life and he never fails. He gives me purpose and my family brings me joy as well. I look forward to readings from you.

Wonderful introduction. I am impressed with your being an advocate for youth. How good of you to help so many. I think it is important to give back to the community. If more would not only take care of themselves as you do, but give to others, what a world we would have.
Blessings to you for serving in the war, i remember reading about it and how little we did to support those who served in it when they came back home. Glad times have changed. Without you and others like you, we would have have what we have today.
Welcome to Senior chatters. Wish you would drop by and post something in the group: Living in the Moment. You would have so much to offer.
Linda
Ty Linda that poster of yours brings back memories My mother during world war 2 was an actual Rosie the Riviter on PBY patrol planes that both our Navy and the Royal British Navy used…how about that! ty for your kind words Love Kent
