Long Distance Lovers
Long distance lovers ,close heart to heart friends
It all seemed so possible , an adventure without end
But now that you are ill ,it’s hard to be this far from you
Who’s holding your hand sitting next to your bed?
You are anxious and afraid that this might be the end
And here this far …I fear the same
Long distance lovers ,it’s hard to comprehend .
How we seemed so close and yet the distance it’s so great
Our moments together were blissfully …the best
Making the most of each minute of togetherness
Your lips on my lips I remember so well
The sweetness of our love never ceasing to taste
Long distance lovers , planning our next date
Excitedly expectant of holding each other again
We are so compatible you whispered to me
My arms are so empty when you are not in them
The phone is not answering , the messages unread .
Where are you my lover , will you ever get well ?
Or is this silence across the miles …indicating the end ?
I’m anxiously awaiting to hear your voice again .
Long distance lovers ,it’s too hard to take
In our autumn years …there’s no time to waste
On moments like these it’s when reality hits home
When long distance loving is no longer exciting
Just, painfully wrong ….

Gorgeous poem nmod – poignant, it really touched my heart. It’s one to which many of us can relate. Not knowing what’s happened to a loved one far away, with no means of finding out, is absolutely hellish. I loved this poem. Well done.

nmod ,hearbreakingly beautiful, so near and yet so far away,love encompasses distance, because it will forever stay in the heart,and even if one doesn,t hear or see the loved one again, that time together will stay inyou heart and soul forever, it doesn,t fade, it doesn,t cease, and how beautiful it was while it lasted.A special love like that comes once in a lifetime, treasure what you had and even if one never hears again what has happened, no-one can ever take the special gift of love from either of you . bless you .xxxx.
