Little red flowers/ Two minutes of time
I wrote this in 2011
I know I have had it on before quite a lot of years ago
Two minutes of time
Is all it takes
To remember those who
Laid there life on the line
In their time and ours
That is why we wear
The little red flowers
Two minutes of time
Is all it takes
To remember those who
Died at sea
Protecting us from
The enemy
Two minutes of time
Is all it takes
To remember those who
Died in the sky’s
And never said their
Last goodbyes
Two minutes of time
Is all it takes
To remember those who
Came back and have
Their own battles to fight
Day and night
Two minutes of time
Is all it takes
To remember those
Who gave their lives
In their time and ours
That is why we wear
The little red flowers
I don’t remember seeing it before, but well worth repeating.
Thanks way

Thanks for posting this – a lovely memorial – and yes – its only two minutes to stop and reflect on the great sacrifices made in the past and still by so many today – that gives us our freedom.
Very good sugs, I went all the way to the battlefields of Northern France to spend my 2 minutes at the memorial to my uncle, and sign the book of remembrance in the little bronze box.
This is a lovely poem! Two minutes of time…is all it takes. Beautiful!
