Laugh at self

Alrighty then….I have been out of the blogging mood for a while, but something happened this week that I want to share. Maybe no one else will find it humorous, but….oh well, here goes.

I was getting ready to go to an appointment yesterday morning. As I was brushing my teeth, I noticed a lot of bright red on my yellow sleeve, on the inside, up near my elbow. My first thought “Aaah! I’m bleeding!!” If I’d cut myself somehow, I didn’t know it. Then I realized that it was the jam I’d used on my toast earlier. What the heck, how did it get there? I had no idea!

So I changed my shirt of course, and went to the appointment. I got home, ate lunch, and then noticed a red sticky spot on the outer side of my pant leg. More red jam!? I wondered if others had seen it when I was out. Again…I had no idea.

Well, this reminded me of when my kids were small. Let a four year old fix their own sandwich, and they end up wearing it all over them…..blissfully unaware. And if they do know, they don’t care a bit.

I just had to stop and laugh at myself and the situation. Maybe I’ll revert to age four more often. There’s too much stress and seriousness in the world anyway.

You are right we do take things too seriously sometimes…. like a kid, I enjoy licking my fingers after a sticky bun (or a mango) – maybe it;s not done, but who cares????? As for licking the mixing bowl…welllllllll – enough said…. ((((((hugs))))))) Lina xxx

  3. I have been 4 years old many, many times. And it’s more acceptable the older we get. Or at least tolerated by people around us. So, “bless her/his heart” to everyone! Love, Jackie
