Just goes to show you!!!

Last night I watched the documentary which Prince Charles hosted, it was about him growing up and showed old ‘cine’ films of his Mother the Queen Elizabeth with her children….
Well I have to own up I always thought the Queen was somewhat distant when it came to her family, but this jem of a programme showed such a different side to her…….
It was nice to see the private side to the royal family…….and it would appear she has such lovely relationships with her grandchildren…..even tho we are led to believe she is a cold and uncaring ‘woman’……..

I just loved seeing her playing with her children and just being like any other Mum..

I guess the saying goes noone knows what goes on behind closed doors!!!

Well I thought it was a terrific and heart-warming piece of television that hit just the right note….

~ and I say a thumbs up!!!…..

  1. I was like you Debz and always thought that the Royals were uncaring but this proved me wrong…it was good to see the real side…the private side to the Queen. thank you for posting xx

  2. She keeps her private life private but when she’s “on duty” she’s highly professional. In Helen’s Mirren’s portrayal of her in the movie, the title escapes me this minute!) in the scene of her reaction to Diana’s death, she had such a hard time understanding the public’s reaction to what she as the queen regarded as a highly private matter. There are very few human beings who can so stoically adhere to the vows they made to be 100 percent devoted to duty and loyalty. She’s one of a kind, our queen 🙂

  3. Yes Wanda and I have watched another programme about what happened with Diania, I do believe now she wasn’t being ‘mean or nasty’, I honestly do believe she wa shielding her grandsons from the media to enable them to have their ~ what little time they ~ had grieving time…

I actually feel quite sad for the situation she was put in now….

And when she gave her vows to her country when she was just 25, she really did…yep it had definatly made me see another side of HRH..

    xx

  4. What a lovely blog Debz. I have loved the Queen since a small child standing in the crowd waving my flag because “Our Queen” had come all the way to Australia to see us lol. How lovely she was to everyone on all her Australian visits and how I have admired her over 60 years.

I have seen a number of docs of part of her life with her children and grand children and have regarded her as a wonderful, warm, caring and professional person, one with a great sense of humour too having watched her in the audience at a televised Dame Edna show lol.

I wonder how many people have devoted 60 years to their “job”, this job very well done i think xxx

  5. Exactly skipp, 60 years off professionalism and taking on such a huge responsibility at such a young age of 25, I know we all grumble about them ‘having’ lots of money but it made me quite patriotic after I saw her yesterday!!
