I don’t go into the lobby all that much, but do pop in now and again, and I have to say I love it when there are only three or four of us there, we always seem to have a laugh, some secrets are divulged, we chat about personal stuff sometimes and have a chance to ask and answer questions, and for me this means forming a bond……..anyway, today the question of sexuality and the older generation came up……..are we over the hill at fifty, I for one certainly do not think so……..how old is too old for ermm….lol…….well it would appear from what I hear its mainly the wife’s that lose interest first, wonder why this is !!……….I personally believe that age is just a number and you should never live your life by numbers……ie…. I’m 60 65 now, time to rest up and rot away…..as the saying goes…….You Don’t Use It…..You lose it…….and this goes for all organs of the body……..the brain is a powerful weapon, and the imagination can work wonders……

Yes indeed Flowersun, and I know I may get taken to task for this, but i must stress I don’t mean all wife’s……..but…….talking with women as I do, one of the reasons is that they just do not fancy their men anymore, they have become bored with the same old same old………and I guess to some degree the same can be said of the men……….would the interest return if it were a new partner……one of the reasons why affairs start……and wink wink nudge nudge you are never too old…or are you…….my original question….damn, why do you always distract me…lol xx

thought provoking star you are right about the brain my wife has dementia and it gets harder every day as carer i used to do night clubs and pubs as a singer with a musician but thats now in the past sh I really loved it but she comes first

at 72 I say you are never to old starr. yes you can get bored with the same old but I just take a holiday for a few weeks and WOW when I get back, hahaha. yes ,I suppose a new partner can be more exciting but it only lasts for a while and then you will be in the same boat. just spice up what you have , I say

starlette………..you do bring out the worst in me……….ha ha……….well, maybe it’s the best…………….I think if society in general didn’t put so much emphasis on said topic, and if most if not all religions , ( I said most ) would stop condemning people for sex other than procreation purposes, I don’t think there would be such a problem. I think that is one of the reasons so many gay people are now revealing their true selves. It is no longer the social taboo that it once was, and about the only argument that religions have against gays, is the procreation concept……I don’t think most religious people really believe that, but they might just be a bit jealous that gay people seem to be having so much fun and couldn’t possibly care less what some religion dictates. Religions certainly don’t condemn older couples for not procreating, or divorced people from marrying again. Well, maybe one or two religions do, but not the majority. We are bombarded daily, and sometimes hourly with ads of a sexual nature, and baby beauty pageants, and movies , and on and on. It’s a never ending cycle.
I’ve never had the problem, so I might not know of which I speak…….just needed to rant a bit. Behave yourself starlette……………..heh heh………like there is a chance of that……………..
Scotty your reply covers a lot of sexual exploitation of which I also do not agree, the beauty pageants for the very young girls I find very distasteful, I feel they are done for the satisfaction of the parents rather than with the child’s best interests at heart, wont go much into the religion thing, but I think it is often used as a cover for all sorts of corrupt reasons, it pleases me that gays are now more accepted by most people and religions……. but there are always going to be the few who never will……..anyway it’s good to hear you are still functioning at an acceptable level Scotty, and long may you continue to do so…Tee Hee…….xx

Michael, I like what you say. Starlette, if you had asked the same question when you were 30, you probably would have gotten similar answers. I have been wondering about this for some Time but I think people are different and I will just wait and see what happens. I do think a lot is mental with women.

Hello Michael, I think I see where you are coming from, the health aspect is a different ball game altogether for both sexes, would be the last thing on your mind if you are unwell……….but in general speaking I think maybe Rose has it right, it is a mental attitude in a lot of cases with women, rather then the physical excuses that are sometimes used……..just saying that’s all……..Michael, I of course cannot advocate infidelity……….but we all have needs, so whatever it takes to keep a marriage or partnership together….. who am I to judge……xxx

I agree with both of you but there is a different between * mental and
psychological ** which may means the same in the English language??
Many men need young girls for motivation, Women need desirable
looks of a man to get some kind of motivation.
One of the members has used the expression of getting heated up
for it.
A couple needs a certain electric tension and that is the key factor cos
it has lost its power throught many years of marriage on both sides.
And if the voltage drops then…………………!
That’s absolutely not valid for every couple but by the external temptations
that take influence on both gender it seems to be quite normal if people
yearn for changes.xxxM
Oh Michael I think you are so correct in what you say, and bravo for being truthful………I know we shouldn’t focus on looks, but alas perhaps momentarily we do……..a lithe young body for both men and women can be a turn on……but at the end of the day there has to be more than that……yes the voltage drops, but what I am finding it seems to happen sooner in lots of women than the men…..mental I use tongue in cheek…….just means we can be funny buggers at times…lol…. not as in a real problem like a genuine psychological one…xxx
