Internet interaction

I have periodically explored social interaction with other’s via this media and must admit my surprise as to the lack reception by members from the groups I have joined. I do understand that most sites are full of members whom are searching for life partners, but being a happily man, my desire is to intellectually engage others and and an exchange of ideas. Admittedly I am not a chatter thus spend little if anytime in a chat room. As I have spent a lifetime working with the public and I enjoy studying people and their actions and/or their inactions, as I love learning what motivates people. As I have reached a period in my life(due to ill health) I may be forced into retirement, I have been curious as to the use of this media as a form of interaction.

  1. senile. internet interaction is a lot like real life social interaction. It takes time to get to know people and there are a lot of different ways to meet. If you don’t like to chat, it seriously limits your getting to know people. There are groups of all kinds, but courtesy and time is necessary but never doubt that bonding and caring is part of internet interaction and friendships. I hope you find what you want, but it takes time.

  2. Hello Senile,

what a high aproach you have. High but good. I seldom go into a chat, very seldom, but I must say I’ve met wonderful people here with the SC and in the blogs. Well we do not discuss politics, religion and some other topics here and that out of a good reason.
See, I am a German and nonetheless we found topics that are of interest and cross the border.
If you are an open minded person than very well, as Rose just said it, it will take a little while and you’ll find the people you’re searching for. Good luck.
